The Dallas Cowboys first expressed interest with Auburn quarterback, Heisman winner, National Champion, entertainer and icon, Cam Newton at the NFL Scouting Combine. Dallas spend fifteen minutes interviewing the quarterback and they have traveled to his Pro Day, which took place today.

It unlikely that the Cowboys will select Newton with the 9th overall pick. Not only does the team have to address some serious needs on the defensive side of the ball, but Newton will almost certainly be off the board before Dallas is on the clock.

Even though the chances of Newton to the Cowboys are slim to none, it is important to note the team continues to show interest in him. Does it show a lack of confidence in Tony Romo as the team’s future starter? Sound off.
