The Cowboys did not hesitate today when teams were allowed to make roster cuts, letting go of Roy E. Williams, Leonard Davis, Marc Colombo, Marion Barber III, and Kris Brown. Many have been speculating that Williams and Barber’s time in Dallas was up. With Davis’ departure the team will have rookie David Arkin and Travis Bright along with veterans Montrae Holland, Manny Ramirez, and Phil Costa to fill the guard position. With Colombo gone rookie Tyron Smith could move into the starting line up opposite Doug Free, if the Cowboys re-sign him. Dez Bryant will fill Williams vacancy, though he was likely to take that even if Williams had stayed. Williams won’t likely be missed in Dallas where he consistently under performed after the Cowboys gave up 4 drafts picks, including a 1st rounder, that left many scratching their heads. It didn’t help that Williams talked a big game, but ultimately could not follow through.
