The Cowboys made the hiring of Rich Bisaccia as special teams coach official on Wednesday, adding to the list of assistants with strong ties to Jon Gruden.
Bisaccia was a member of the Tampa Bay staff from 2002-2010, the first seven seasons under Gruden as the special teams coach and later adding the title of associate head coach.
Prior to coming to the Cowboys, Bisaccia spent the last two seasons with the San Diego Chargers, serving as special teams coach in 2011 and adding assistant head coach responsibilities in 2012.
"Rich has been among the top special teams coordinators in the NFL for the last decade," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said in a statement from the team. "He combines a tremendous amount of expertise to go along with outstanding teaching ability. His enthusiasm and passion for the game are infectious, and his units play with a relentless spirit that we believe is so important."
