Cowboys center Andre Gurode is being held out of tonight’s preseason game against the Vikings. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones tells the Dallas Morning News that it’s a business decision.

“He’s the healthiest he’s been since he’s been in camp,” Jones said of Gurode. “We’re going to go back to Dallas and talk about his business.

“I didn’t want to have anything, a nick or something out here tonight, create any issues to what we need to talk about.

“It’s not disciplinary in any way. It’s a cap issue. He’s healthy. This is the time to talk about it.”

Gurode is due $5.5 million in base salary and has a cap number of $7.16 million in 2011. The 33-year-old opened training camp with a minor knee injury, but is healthy and split first-team reps with second-year undrafted free agent Phil Costa.

Costa is out for a few weeks with a sprained knee ligament, meaning undrafted rookie Kevin Kowalski will start at center for the Cowboys tonight.
