Even with the addition of Kyle Orton this past offseason, quarterback Stephen McGee found a way to make it onto the Dallas Cowboys’ final 53-man roster.
With the injury problems Tony Romo has had over the years, it makes sense for the Cowboys to keep three quarterbacks. McGee already knows the system so it wouldn’t make sense to bring someone else in.

The New York Giants are the defending Super bowl champions, but the Dallas Cowboys still seem to get the attention heading into the season opener on September 5th. The Cowboys have made noise in the offseason with an aggressive draft and are claiming this is the year they make the next step to winning it all.
The oddsmakers are still giving the Giants respect as the spread...
Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten was on the practice field in pads and hopeful that he will be able to play in the season opener.
Saturday's practice was the first time Witten had been in pads since lacerating his spleen in the preseason opener on Aug. 13. He says it felt good to put the pads on and that he just ran around and caught some passes at practice.
Former New York Giants line backer Lawrence Taylor is aware of the new rules and stipulations placed upon Dez Bryant.
The Hall Of Famer is just not sure they would have worked on him.
In an article written by USA Today, Taylor expressed that sentiment.
“It boils down to the guy and if he is willing to adhere to those rules. I’m not sure I would’ve been able to do...
A real Cowboy!
Jay Novacek teamed with Allstate Insurance Company to help kick off the 2012 college football season with the Cowboys Classic, which will feature powerhouse programs Michigan and Alabama on September 1 at Cowboys Stadium.
(Yeah. That is just a few hours from now. Getcha popcorn ready.)
As part of the Allstate Tailgate Tour, Novacek will do a meet and...
Jerry Jones opened training camp for the Dallas Cowboys enthusiastically talking about wanting to return to the team's glory days.
With quarterback Tony Romo coming off arguably his best season and DeMarcus Ware still one of the league's premier linebackers, there certainly is some reason for Jones to again be optimistic.
But there is also the harsh reality. Even with Romo...
Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett indicated that there’s a chance wide receiver Dez Bryant will return punts against the Giants next week.
“If he’s the best guy, and he’s healthy, we’ll give him a chance to do it,” Garrett said per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “Those guys have to be reliable, first and foremost, in taking care of the ball. And then you...
The Dallas Cowboys reportedly released wide receiver Danny Coale, defensive back Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, offensive linemen Pat McQuistan and Daniel Loper and quarterback Rudy Carpenter on Friday. Coale, a fifth-round pick, didn't do enough to set himself apart according to owner Jerry Jones, who made the comments on his weekly radio show on Friday. Owusu-Ansah was back with...
Jerry Jones informed us today that it is “not impossible” that Jason Witten suits up and plays against the Cowboys on Wednesday. Now, I am not a psych major, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but when an owner uses a double negative to describe the status of a player, it is not good news.
As far as the fantasy football community is concerned, this should serve...
ARLINGTON, Texas Stephen McGee may not have won the Cowboys' No. 3 quarterback job Wednesday night, but he didn't lose it, either.
If the Cowboys keep a third quarterback, it will be McGee. He started and played the entire first half of Wednesday's JV scrimmage of a preseason game against the Dolphins.
The Cowboys won, 30-13. Because the game was played just four days...
The NCAA college football sack leader last year has found a new home. After an amazing preseason with the Dallas Cowboys where Adrian had tons of quarterback pressures, a sack and a forced fumble. Adrian was famous in the SWAC division where he blew up quarterbacks for a living. Now he is going to go to the Ravens practice squad where he will be pushing Sergio Kindle for his...
Cowboys tight end Jason Witten (lacerated spleen) returned to practice Saturday, according to ESPN.Fantasy Spin:Witten hasn't practiced since suffering a lacerated spleen on Aug. 13. The Cowboys' tight end had a scan of his spleen Aug. 28 which revealed the injury was healing, but he was not cleared for contact. He's still questionable for Week 1.
Trade for Cowboys: The Cowboys are clearly desperate for interior offensive line help. After losing both of their starting guards this offseason, the Cowboys replaced them with Nate Livings, an inferior player who really struggled in Cincinnati last year, and Mackenzy Bernadeau, a career backup who has yet to nail down a starting job thanks to injuries. 2011 4th round pick David...
According to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com, Cowboys nose tackle Jay Ratliff is questionable for next week’s season opener against the Giants.
“Nose tackle Jay Ratliff (ankle) remains questionable for the season opener next week< reported Watkins.
Even though it looks like there’s a chance Ratliff might play next week, I ultimately don’t think he will.
