Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas reports that the Cowboys believe Linebacker Bruce Carter will need to undergo season-ending surgery on his elbow. Carter dislocated his left elbow in the second half of Dallas loss against the Redskins on Thursday. Carter has been filling in for Sean Lee who was lost for the season after suffering a toe injury back in October. Although Carter will look for a second opinion, team officials believe that the surgery will be done next week. The recent blow to the Cowboys defensive unit will force them to move forward with Ernie Sims and Dan Connor for the foreseeable future.
