Dallas Cowboys veteran linebacker Keith Brooking suffered a strained right shoulder in the first half of Saturday’s preseason game against the Chargers. In a sideline interview, Brooking said the X-rays were negative and that he would have continued playing in a real game. Second-round draft pick Sean Lee replaced Brooking in the starting lineup. Lee missed the Cowboys’ first two preseason games with a strained quad, so Brooking’s injury was quite timely so the rookie could see some first-team action. Lee only recorded one tackle, but tallied five assists during his work with the starting unit.
