The leading tackler for the Dallas Cowboys, Sean Lee, will not be playing Sunday against the New York Giants, or for the rest of the season as he was placed on Injured Reserve Wednesday morning. The surgery he will receive to the damaged ligament in his right big toe is to blame for the ending of his season this year. Cowboys LB Sean Lee is a big part of the Dallas Defense (AP Photo) According to HuffingtonPost.com, Lee is not only the leading tackler for the Cowboys defense but, he also calls the defensive signals. The way the defense has been playing, allowing 22.2 pts per game, losing Sean Lee is a definite blow to their scheme. This isn’t the first time Lee has missed playing time due to injury. He had a history of injury while playing football at Penn State, which had an effect on his spot in the draft. He was picked up by the Cowboys as the 55th overall pick, 2nd round, of the 2010 NFL Draft, even though he was slated to go late in the first round. “He’s a bell cow for us and a guy that really everybody on our defense and football team looks up to,” says Coach Jason Garret stated to a reporter. To replace Lee, is an offseason free agency pickup Dan Conner, “I remember seeing him on the headphones on the sidelines, and he was really coaching out there. There was no reason he shouldn’t.” Losing Sean Lee is obviously not an ideal situation for this Cowboys defense, who will be taking the field against the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants. The Giants just barely beat out the Washington Redskins last week and the Dallas Cowboys squeaked a win by the Carolina Panthers. That being said, I believe this game will be a close one. The Giants secondary has struggled, to say the least. If Tony Romo can expose that weakness, as he has done in the past, it will be a definite Cowboys win on Sunday.   Follow us on Twitter @DownandDistance Down and Distance Columnist – Katherine Warren @KaramelModel  The post Cowboys lose LB Sean Lee for the season with a Toe Injury appeared first on DOWN & DISTANCE.
