Cowboys linebacker Jerry Brown died in a car crash early Saturday morning, and teammate Josh Brent has been jailed as a result.
The Dallas Police Department confirmed that Brown passed away after Brent drove drunk, sped and flipped his car.
Brent, a practice squad nose tackle whose legal name is Joshua Price-Brent, has been charged with intoxicated manslaughter and is behind bars at Irving County Jail.
“Officers at the scene believed alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash; therefore, Price-Brent was asked to perform field sobriety tests,” a statement from the Irving Police Department said, via ProFootballTalk.com. “Based on the results of the tests, along with the officer’s observations and conversations with Price-Brent, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
