After missing two games with a sprained foot, Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray might need another week to recover and is uncertain for Sunday's game against the undefeated Falcons in Atlanta, Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas reports.
"We'll just have to see," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Monday. "It seems like he's moving around a little bit better. Again, that's an injury you have to be patient with. We don't want to rush him back, then take any backward steps. We'll see how he is day by day this week."
Murray did not play in Sunday's 29-24 loss to the New York Giants, but owner/general manager Jerry Jones had expressed optimism that his starting running back was close to returning after the Cowboys managed only 19 yards on 17 carries. Source: The Redzone Attached Thumbnails

Following the Cowboys' controversial loss to the rival Giants, Dallas' QB says he understands why their fans were upset and that they had every right to boo the team.
Cowboys VP: Romo right guy going foward
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has thrown nine interceptions in his last two games at Cowboys Stadium with four coming in Sunday's 29-24 loss to the New York Giants. The franchise quarterback that has never tossed more than 19 picks in a season is on pace to throw 30 this year.
At 32, critics are wondering out loud if Romo should be the Cowboys' quarterback of the future...
Week 9 WR fantasy football rankings
I would like to first wish everyone good spirits in lieu of Hurricane Sandy and say that I hope everyone out there is OK, and suffered little to no issues with this massive phenomena.
The Week 9 WR rankings have two immediate concerns: Jordy Nelson of the Packers and DeSean Jackson of the Eagles.
Jordy Nelson is dealing with a hamstring issue, but could’ve played last week...
Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray, WR Dez Bryantnot Seen At Practice Wednesday
Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray and receiver Dez Bryant were among seven players who were not seen practicing Wednesday.
Bryant hurt his hip at the end of the Cowboys 29-24 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. Murray continues to be hampered by a sprained left foot. They werent spotted on the practice field along with center Phil Costa (ankle) and defensive lineman Sean...
Tony Romo's Inconsistent, Lack of Clutch Play Will Never Lead Cowboys to Super Bowl Victory
If you look at Tony Romo's statistics, you might wonder why the Cowboys aren't Super Bowl contenders every year. To cop a phrase from Bill Belichick, sometimes "stats are for losers." And the Cowboys will be losers for as long as Romo is under center.
The problem with the Cowboys' quarterback is that you have no idea who you're getting...
Cowboys DE Sean Lissemore Out Of His Protective Walking Boot
Cowboys defensive lineman Sean Lissemore wasnt wearing the protective walking boot Monday for the first time since he suffered a right high ankle sprain Oct. 14 at Baltimore.
Lissemore said hes making progress and hopes to start moving around some in practice Wednesday so he can test it out.
Lissemore wont likely play for another few weeks, however. But now minus...
Cowboys don't want season to slip out of reach
The Dallas Cowboys now must try to keep their season from slipping out of reach.
They were so close to being within a half-game of the NFC East lead and having a vital tiebreaker. But they missed a season sweep of the division-leading New York Giants (6-2) by the length of Dez Bryant's fingertips.
Coach Jason Garrett said Monday there's a tremendous amount of urgency for...
Dallas Cowboys: Week 9 NFL Power Rankings (#17)
Last week: 16 (-1)
Record: 3-4
The good news for the Cowboys is that they rank 8th in yards per play differential and 7th in rate of sustaining drives differential. The biggest issue, by far, has been turnover differential so far for them, as they have a turnover differential of -11, 2nd worst in the NFL. The good news is that turnover differentials are incredibly inconsistent, as...
NFL Rumors: Are Jason Garrett, Tony Romo in the Dallas Cowboys future?
The Dallas Cowboys once again mid themselves mired in mediocrity at the mid-season mark of the NFL regular season. Another season of underachieving begs the question, are Jason Garrett and Tony Romo in the long term plans for the Dallas Cowboys? Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones told reporters this past offseason that he felt that the window was closing on a potential...
Cowboys LB Dan Connor Unlikely To Play Against Atlanta
Its unlikely that linebacker Dan Connor will be able to play Sunday night against Atlanta.
The Cowboys were still awaiting the results of an MRI late Monday afternoon. But since Connor has experienced a stinger in consecutive games, the club will be reluctant to put him back on the field so quickly.
I dont have anything specific on Dan yet, head coach Jason Garrett said...
Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins Available For A Fourth-Round Pick?
ESPNDallas.coms Todd Archer believes the Cowboys could receive a fourth-round pick if they decide to move cornerback Mike Jenkins before Thursdays trade deadline.
He is also in the last year of his contract and is playing in a backup role so far. Contending teams need cornerbacks and Jenkins might be able to bring some in return, but his contractual future makes a trade a...
Cowboys Won't Remove Punt-Return Duties From WR Dez Bryant Just Yet
Dez Bryants days as a punt returner arent necessarily over. The wideout, who made a questionable decision to retrieve a punt, muffed the catch and then fumbled the ball away in the first quarter of the Cowboys loss to the Giants, may still handle that role.
I dont want to make any definitive statements about how were going to use guys, head coach Jason Garrett said...
Dez Bryant’s Out-of-Bounds Game-Winning Touchdown Catch Still Blows My Mind
The New York Giants beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday by five points because Dez Bryant couldn’t move his hand about 3 inches. In actuality, the Cowboys lost the game because Tony Romo threw the ball to the Giants 7 million times. The effort by Bryant was spectacular. It was a great catch, but unfortunately his hand landed a couple inches out-of-bounds.
Cowboys LB Sean Lee Undergoes Surgery On Right Big Toe
Cowboys inside linebacker Sean Lee, who is out for the season, underwent surgery on his right big toe. A source close to the third-year veteran said it went well.

An Open Letter to Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo
Dear Tony,
I tried my best to avoid writing this letter, but at the end of the day I just couldn’t help it. I have two issues I’d like to address. The first has to do with the picture above. This was right after you rushed for a 1-yard touchdown. You celebrated as if you just won the Super Bowl. At that point in the game, the Cowboys were still losing and you had already thrown...
