The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed linebacker Ernie Sims to a one-year deal worth a reported $715,000. Sims joined the Cowboys in midseason last year when defensive leader Sean Lee was lost for the season with a toe injury. The seven-year veteran ended up making six starts and finished with 42 tackles in 10 games. Sims will be in a group of players batting for a starting job at outside linebacker. The Cowboys are switching to the 4-3 defense, and Sean Lee and Bruce Carter will fill two of the starting spots. Lee is likely to be the middle linebacker. The 28-year-old Sims was a first-round pick by Detroit in 2006 and spent four seasons there before a year each in Philadelphia and Indianapolis. --- Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL

Without signing a single free agent, the Dallas Cowboys will improve on defense

Free agency is underway. Teams are posturing and positioning and snapping up talent to improve their on-field product. Everyone, that is, except your Dallas Cowboys. Dallas Cowboys and The I’ds of March: WWYD (What would YOU do)?

Hey, Dallas Cowboys fans, the Ides of March have come and gone. For those of you that have no clue what the Ides of March is in the first place, here you go: The Romans did not number days of a month sequentially from the first through the last day. Instead, they counted back from three fixed points of the month: the Nones (5th or 7th, depending on the length of the month), the Ides ...

Cowboys reportedly still looking to extend Tony Romo

According to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Dallas Cowboys are still looking to sign quarterback Tony Romo to an extension so they can free up more cap room and make some moves in free agency. Instead of focusing on signing any free agents right now,  I think the Cowboys are going to work hard to get an extension done for both Romo and linebacker Anthony Spencer...
