Tight end Colin Cochart has been released by the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys announced the move Tuesday, 10 days after they had claimed Cochart off waivers from Cincinnati. Dallas got Cochart when there were still questions about the health of seven-time Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten. But Witten, who lacerated his spleen Aug. 13, was back and started in the regular-season opener last Wednesday. Cochart had started three games as a rookie last season for the Bengals.

Fantasy Football: Week #2 Waiver Wire Pickups

Written by Fantasy Furnace   It was great having football back last weekend! Drafts are over and the craziness that was week #1 is now in the books. Now comes the hard part. Deciding which of the several breakout stars of week 1 to grab or just leave alone. However, the pickups made before week 2 are usually the most important for grabbing potential studs. Study carefully...

Cowboys release TE Cochart

Tight end Colin Cochart was waived by the Cowboys. Cochart was claimed on waivers from the Bengals on Sept. 1 and kept on the 53-man roster in case tight end Jason Witten couldn't play in the opener at New York. Cochart wasn't needed because Witten played, and he didn't travel with the team to New Jersey. The Cowboys did not make a corresponding move to fill the...

Tony Romo flirting with ‘elite’ status

You have probably already made your mind up about Dallas Cowboys starting QB, Tony Romo. He is usually one of three things to NFL fans: He is a very good quarterback who probably won’t win the Big One (remember when people said this about a certain pair of Manning brothers?), or that he is an [...]

Returning to Seattle won't be a snap for Romo

One of the worst moments of Tony Romo's football career, if not the worst, had nothing to do with him playing quarterback. On Jan. 6, 2007, it appeared that Romo would lead the Dallas Cowboys to a wild-card playoff win in Seattle. He'd moved his team to Seattle's 2-yard line with 1:19 left in the game after tight end Jason Witten was stopped just short of a first down...

Well, it looks like that Jerry got the joke and has decided to cash in on the humor of it all. The Cowboys will start selling Jerry Wipes to help clean your glasses, seriously...this is real: After days of ribbing about...

Analyzing Cowboys' Week 1 game day roster

With an extra few days to work with, let's spend one morning pondering the building of the roster from a game-day perspective. Not only must a team decide how it is going to work its way down to the 53 players that they exclusively own, but they must also then sort through the injuries, match-ups, and game plan to determine which 46 they bring to the sideline on Sunday. Sometimes...

Mike Jenkins Says He Feels No Bitterness Toward The Cowboys

Mike Jenkins said Wednesday that he feels no bitterness toward the Cowboys for adding two starting cornerbacks in the off-season. The 27-year-old former Pro Bowl cornerback was the only team member that didn’t attend voluntary off-season workouts at Valley Ranch, leading to speculation that he was unhappy with the additions of Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne. On Wednesday...

Jason Witten still isn’t in the clear

According to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com, even though Cowboys tight end Jason Witten played in last week’s opener against the Giants, it doesn’t mean he’s in the clear just yet. “Even though Jason Witten played in last week’s regular-season opener at the New York Giants 23 days after suffering a lacerated spleen does not mean the seven-time Pro Bowl tight end is 100 percent...

Report: Jones' son-in-law creates 'Jerry Wipes'

An embarrassing moment on national television for Shy Anderson might end up with him getting the last laugh. After NBC cameras caught the son-in-law of Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones cleaning Jones' eyeglasses in the owner's suite in New York during the teams games against the Giants, Anderson quickly became a viral joke by the next morning. Everyone wanted to know who Jerry...

Cowboys Still Looking To Handle TE Jason Witten With Care

After playing 78 percent of the Cowboys’ offensive snaps in the team’s 24-17 victory over the New York Giants last week, tight end Jason Witten participated in practice Monday. While Witten appears to be in good condition less than a month after suffering a lacerated spleen Aug. 13, the Cowboys are being cautious with the seven-time Pro Bowler. “I think we have to monitor...

The Rub: NFC Week 1, Five Teams In Five Words

Dallas – Momentum:  No team needs a better start to their season than Dallas, and no player needs a better first few weeks than Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.  Every week 1 game for Romo is like starting a new diet or fighting adolescent acne…it needs to go well early for him, or it’s not going to go at all.  Not to overstate a single win, but that divisional victory over...
