Jerry Jones responds to sideline visit criticism

When the critical decisions need to be made, Jerry Jones prefers to take care of business in person. That's why the Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager elected to speak with Jason Garrett face-to-face during the first quarter of Saturday's game at Cowboys Stadium. Jones said Monday that he prefers this method of communication in some situations, adding that there have...

Dallas Cowboys Official Weekly from December 28, 1985

A reader named Bruce Lombard earlier this year most generously sent me a stack of copies of the old Dallas Cowboys Official Weekly from the 1985 season and 1986 offseason. Each Wednesday, we will take a look at some interesting tidbits in these issues. The focus this week is in the issue published on December 28, 1985. IRVING – Tony Romo was at practice Wednesday, throwing passes during the portion of the practice open to the media. Romo wore a glove on his bruised right hand while the players stretched. When he threw passes during drills, there was nothing on his hand. Romo suffered the injury when he slammed the back of his hand into the helmet of Philadelphia defensive end Jason Babin early...

Coach Jason Garrett says it looks as if Romo is getting better and that a number of different tests have confirmed the original diagnosis of nothing being broken in the quarterback's right hand.

Got to hand it to Romo

IRVING, Tex. — It has all come down to one winner-take-the-NFC East Cowboys-Giants clash at MetLife Stadium. And bruised hand or not, Tony Romo doesn’t plan to miss it.

Cowboys will try to turn the other cheek when Giants talk trash

IRVING – Don’t expect the Cowboys to respond to the trash talk coming out of the Giants locker room this week. “I’ve been quoted many times saying I hate the Dallas Cowboys, and I still do,” Giants defensive end Justin Tuck told reporters Monday. Told what Tuck said, Cowboys defensive end Marcus Spears offered what amounted to a verbal shrug. “Talking trash doesn’t...

Spears: "Talking Doesn't Win Games"

Between Justin Tuck and Brandon Jacobs, there’s always someone around to remind us that, yes, their is a rivalry between the Cowboys and Giants in the week leading into a match-up between the two--and this week was no different. Tuck, who earlier in the season called Cowboys Stadium “a dump,”  predictably said this week that he “hates” the Cowboys and the feeling is mutual...
