Cornerback Mike Jenkins is receiving interest from multiple clubs as the new league year approaches, but the free agent’s former club, the Dallas Cowboys, are not one of the interested teams, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas. Mike Jenkins getting interest from teams but Dallas is not interested. — Calvin Watkins (@calvinwatkins) March 9, 2013 The Cowboys selected Jenkins in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He’s since made 48 starts for the club, but he was relegated to a reserve role last season. He finished the year with only 14 tackles and no interceptions over 13 games played. Jenkins found himself replaced in the team’s starting defense by free agent acquisition Brandon Carr and top draft pick Morris Claiborne. Dallas no longer has a clear role for Jenkins, who figures to sign elsewhere this offseason. Cowboys, Brandon Carr: Example of free agency gone wrong

The Dallas Cowboys entered the 2012 NFL free agency period with a glaring need for cornerback. After all, the secondary was a major factor in the Cowboys missing the playoffs. Immediately they contacted Brandon Carr and signed him to a five-year deal worth 50.1 million. Looking back, did they overpay? Sure, everyone overpays in the first 24 hours of free agency. They filled a need...

What should the Cowboys do in the draft to address their biggest needs?

It’s simple the Dallas Cowboys have to have a running Game if they ever want to get back to the Big Dance with Tony Romo at the helm.  The top quarterbacks in the NFL without a true running game were tossed out early this last year and Green Bay’s Rodgers being the Super Man he is even needs a running game and it showed this year!!  Even as talented as Cowboys QB Romo is he...

According to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com, several teams are interested in Cowboys’ running back Felix Jones who’ll hit the free agent market next week. The real question for the Cowboys is; should they re-sign Jones? I believe it’s time for them to move on from Jones and either draft a running back late or sign an undrafted free agent.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI ...

Anthony Spencer signs his franchise tender

According to NFL agent Jordan Woy, his client, Cowboys’ linebacker Anthony Spencer, his client has signed his franchise tender. This is great news for the Cowboys, because this means Spencer doesn’t intend on holding out. Cowboys won't be as busy as 2012 in free agency

One thing is certain with the Dallas Cowboys in free agency: They won't be nearly as busy as they were a year ago. That's not to say there aren't immediate needs for a team with consecutive 8-8 finishes, three straight seasons without a playoff trip and a .500 record going back 16 years. The Cowboys need more defensive linemen for a switch to the 4-3, and they are thin...

One trade still haunts this Cowboys roster

Of the many decisions that should've gotten the Dallas Cowboys' GM fired, trading for former Lions wide receiver Roy Williams during the '08 season has to rank near the top. Troy Aikman said the trade had the potential to be one of the biggest busts in NFL history and he wasn't far off. This is an organization that has been undermined by men named Roy Williams for...

Dallas Cowboys: Biggest Draft Day Regret In Franchise History

This coming April the Dallas Cowboys will be attempting to build a team to chase that elusive NFC East Championship. Need I remind you, they have missed out on the playoffs in the final game of the season the last two years. More importantly than that, the Cowboys haven’t done very well in the annual draft. There is no bigger draft day regret than that of Quincy Carter in my eyes...
