Via ESPNDallas.com, the Dallas Cowboys have signed third-round pick J.J Wilcox. ESPNDallas reports that the deal is worth $2.8 million with about half a million as a signing bonus. The Cowboys are planning on using Wilcox on special teams and are giving him a shot to compete for a starting job at safety. Wilcox played receiver and running back on Georgia Southern up until his senior year, but is very athletic and a big hitter which makes him perfect to play at safety. This latest signing means that the Cowboys only have two players from this year’s draft class unsigned; first-rounder center Travis Fredrick and second-rounder tight end Gavin Escobar.
