Cowboys to announce new deal for Ware

IRVING - The Cowboys have scheduled a news conference for 4:30 today to discuss what spokesman Rich Dalrymple called "the signing of a player." Presumably, that means the club will announce the much-anticipated long-term, lucrative deal for Pro Bowl OLB DeMarcus Ware. The timing couldn't be better. Ware had two of the Cowboys' four sacks Sunday on Matt Ryan and forced a fumble. The Troy alumn led the NFL with 20 sacks last season. "He's at the top of the class, very special," coach Wade Phillips said. "But he's an all-around player. He can play the run well, too." After a slow start this season, Ware has a team-high four sacks. And he's doing it with a stress fracture in his foot. "D-Ware is D-Ware, man," DE Marcus Spears said.
