With the Chiefs recent signing of cornerback Stanford Routt, it’s expected that their own free agent cornerback Brandon Carr will not return and will end up cashing in on the riches of free agency with another club.
There hasn’t been much speculation as to where he might land when things are all said and done, but sources around the league are beginning to show a consensus opinion that the Cowboys have a very real interest in Carr and will go all in for his services if he does make it to free agency unsigned.
Dallas had an atrocious defensive backfield last season, and in a division with elite passing teams like the Giants and Eagles, having a shut down corner manning one half of the field is a must.
The Cowboys don’t have a ton of cap space, but they’re likely to make a few moves to shed dead weight this off-season, freeing up enough money to potentially make a hard run at a player like Carr.
