Dallas Cowboys And The NFL:
IRVING - The Cowboys have reached contract terms with return specialist Allen Rossum.
Rossum, a Dallas Skyline alum, is expected to sign Wednesday. To make room for him on the 53-man roster, Dallas released cornerback Cletis Gordon.
The 49ers cut Rossum on Monday when they activated first-round draft pick Michael Crabtree.
Rossum averaged 7 yards per punt return and 21.7 yards on kickoffs before being released. Last year, he averaged 26.8 yards per kick return and 14.9 yards per punt return, second-best in the NFL.
Rossum has eight career TDs via returns. He played five years in Atlanta, where the special teams coach was Joe DeCamillis, now with the Cowboys.
The Cowboys had problems returning punts in Kansas City on Sunday, with Patrick Crayton fumbling one and Terence Newman letting another one bounced to the 3.
