Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is closing in on a plea deal related to his arrest on charges that he assaulted his mother, according to 105.3 The Fan radio in Dallas. The radio station reported Friday that lawyers representing Bryant met with the Dallas County District Attorney's office this week and Bryant will plead guilty to a reduced Class C misdemeanor for family violence and will not face jail time or probation but will pay a $500 fine and attend anger management classes. Bryant was originally charged with a Class A misdemeanor that could result in a $4,000 fine and up to a year in jail. The wide receiver was arrested July 16 after an altercation with his mother, Angela. The Dallas Morning News had reported that she signed an affidavit that she did not want her son to be prosecuted. How much of an impact did Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten make against the New York Giants in the season opener? According to a good friend and teammate, it was significant. Garrett's message getting through to Cowboys

When not comparing his valiant tight end Jason Witten to "El Cid" or having his eye-glasses cleaned by his dutiful son-in-law, Jerry Jones is talking about Lombardi trophies. Fortunately, Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett doesnt want to touch that topic in the afterglow of his teams 24-17 win over the New York Giants. But dont be blinded by Garretts bland oratory...
