Crazy Colts Fan - 2013 NFL Draft a Solid One for the Indianapolis Colts
The good thing about needing a number of spots strengthened or filled is that the team really couldn't go wrong with many of its early picks (as long as they didn't take a punter or kicker--which they didn't). Now that the draft is done, and there has been time to digest the picks the team has made I can say that beyond the shadow of a doubt that these guys did--
Good (hey, I've been sick so I'm a man of few words right now).
They answered the call and got what really appeared to be among the best players available at the times of their picks that also filled a need for the team.
Take first round pick Bjoern Werner out of Florida State. the 6'4'', 255 pound defensive end will provide some speed off the end and make sure that teams can't focus on Robert Mathis too much now that Dwight Freeney is gone. His non-stop engine and athleticism will give opposing teams fits this coming season for sure.
Like many of you, I had wanted the Colts to go with an offensive lineman first. Werner is a hard pick to argue with, but the line still needed to be addressed. The team did a good job of that in round 3 and 4 (they did not have a second round pick) where they took guard Hugh Thornton from Illinois and center Khaled Holmes from USC.

KEEPING IT REAL
The Colts' Twitter account provided a harsh assessment of a draft prospect when a fan brought up the player's name.
The Colts have come out of nowhere and traded up in the 5th round. They selected Montori Hughes, DT from Tennessee Martin. The Colts have made their first move by trading up to get Montori Hughes. Hughes has had a ton of off the field issues and got dismissed from Tennessee. Many experts believe that had he had no off the field issues, he'd be a 2nd rounder. He is super talented...
The Colts have used their 6th round pick on Josh Boyett, safety out of Oregon. They finally used a pick on a safety! Safety is a position where there is no depth and not many bodies. They needed a good backup and special teamer. That will most likely be Boyett. Boyett is an undersized (5'9 205) safety who hits hard and looks solid in coverage. Boyett does have a lot of injury...
Crazy Colts Fan - Short but Harsh Words for Purdue QB Robert Marve off Colts Twitter Feed
This is one of those case where the picture really does say 1000 words--and none of them spoke to kindly of Purdue QB Robert Marve.
The exchange went down during the tail end of the draft on Saturday as the team prepared to draft Mr. Irrelevant, the final player taken in the...
The Indianapolis Colts have traded rush outside linebacker Jerry Hughes to the Buffalo Bills for inside linebacker Kelvin Sheppard. The Jerry Hughes era is done in Indianapolis. The disapointing first round pick has been shipped off to Buffalo and in return the Colts get a solid inside linebacker in Kelvin Sheppard. Hughes never fully developed with the Colts and never was able...
The Colts have selected Justice Cunningham, tight end from South Carolina, with the last pick in the draft. Paul Solata, the announcer of the final pick, accidentally screwed up the name.Justice Cunningham is a big tight end with good hands. He played at South Carolina, in a good offense. He lacks consistency and is not a great athlete. As of right now, he will have to fight for...
Indianapolis Colts owner and CEO Jim Irsay, along with punter Pat McAfee, are offering a $15,000 reward for anyone who has information regarding a hit-and-run incident which killed an elderly woman last November. The police investigation has hit a snag and the duo is hoping that the allure of reward money will lead to further details in the search to find who is responsible. From the...
Who the hell is Jerry Hughes? Beats the crap out of me. Although, I was pretty disappointed with myself in not knowing he was a former 1st round pick. What kind of blogger am I? I guess one who doesn't follow the Colts all that much.
I'm pretty sure most readers don't know who he is as well, so, I reached out to Josh Wilson over at Stampede Blue (SB Nation...
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, free agent offensive lineman Winston Justice will be visiting with both the Browns and Steelers.
Former Colts and Eagles OT Winston Justice is visiting the Steelers today and is scheduled to go to Cleveland on Wednesday.

The Buffalo Bills aren't finished tinkering with their linebackers this offseason.
Buffalo traded Kelvin Sheppard to the Indianapolis Colts for Jerry Hughes on Monday in a swap of linebackers two days after the NFL draft.
Sheppard, a 2011 second-round pick from LSU, has been inconsistent in two seasons in Buffalo. He had 138 tackles and two sacks in 31 games, including 24 starts...
The Buffalo Bills announced that they have sent LB Kelvin Sheppard to the Indianapolis Colts in return for LB Jerry Hughes.

1.24 Indianapolis Colts Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State (6-3¼, 266)
With the twenty-fourth selection in this year’s NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select defensive end Bjoern Werner from Florida State. The German-born defender may not be the fastest or biggest guy on the board, but he sure has a top-notch motor that does not stop no matter the workload he gets on the defensive...
Bjoern Werner couldn't wait to get to the NFL.
Now he can't believe he's soon going to start hearing Colts coach Chuck Pagano bellowing out instructions.
Indianapolis' first-round draft pick arrived in town Friday afternoon, met with Pagano and much of the Colts' brain trust and then spent about 30 minutes explaining everything from the correct pronunciation...
