At least Chad OchoCinco still is good at one thing — making headlines.

Less than a week after getting cut from New England, OchoCinco signed a one-year contract to play for the Miami Dolphins. And it comes on the heels of the news that HBO’s Hard Knocks will feature the Dolphins this summer.

Big surprise. If I was a betting man, I would first use the services provided by online betting with William Hill, the Sportsbook that provides you with better odds online, and second go back in time to place a bet that OchoCinco would sign with the wide receiver-needy team that will be featured on Hard Knocks this year.

On paper, it makes sense for both parties. Dolphins get a possession wide receiver, HBO gets a personality to feature on television. But I’m not sure I agree with some of the fantasy experts who are touting OchoCinco as a hot late-round flier.

First, the Dolphins are unsettled at quarterback. The team drafted Ryan Tannehill in the first round of the NFL Draft but David Garrard is taking first-team reps. Neither options are inspiring at the moment.

Second, OchoCinco has had only one good fantasy football season since 2007. He’ll be 35-years-old at the end of this season. So he is five years removed from consistent fantasy football success and in the twilight of his career.

Third, he was cut from New England for not being able to understand the playbook. He couldn’t get on the field, and there was opportunity in that offense at wide receiver next to Wes Welker. That’s a bad sign, even if Miami’s playbook is easier to understand.

Someone in your fantasy league will be tempted by the name and the perceived opportunity for someone to succeed in this offense. Based on the above, I just don’t see consistent fantasy success happening for OchoCinco again.
