Over the years the Dallas Cowboys have made questionable decisions with free agency. In past seasons the Cowboys have seen the talents of tight end Martellus Bennett leave only to go to divisional rivals, the New York Giants, to become a star, and receiver Laurent Robinson escape to Jacksonville to compete for the Jaguars' top receiving job.Bennett made the Cowboys pay for letting him get away by catching eight passes from Eli Manning for 69 yards and one touchdown in two games for the Giants during the 2012 season. Here are the 19 free agents the Cowboys have to focus on either signing or letting go in 2013.

Lovie Smith to the Dallas Cowboys in 2014?

All of the coaching vacancies in the NFL have been filled, and the most surprising name without a job this offseason, is former Chicago Bears Head Coach Lovie Smith, but his future head coaching gig could be with the Dallas Cowboys in 2014. There are a couple of reasons for this possibility, but you have to look at the facts first. The first fact is Jerry Jones has hired Monte Kiffin...

Jerry Jones asks Tony Romo critics, who would you rather have at quarterback?

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is one of the most heavily scrutinized players in the NFL.  His critics had more ammunition after Romo threw a fourth quarter interception during the Cowboys’ week 17 match up with the Redskins that would ultimately decide who won the division and clinched a playoff berth.  The interception ended up costing the Cowboys the game. “Tony is...

Dallas Cowboys Super Bowls past and passed

Painful even now While Jerry fiddles and (Jim) Rome burns, the Dallas Cowboys have quietly passed the torch to other teams. Like an Olympic runner carrying the torch (if the runner was falling down drunk and weaving in and out of traffic), Jerry has passed the Super Bowl supremacy torch to some of the Cowboys’ most hated rivals. While the Steelers were the first team to reach four...

Jones removes Garrett from play-calling duties

Jason Garrett will no longer call plays on offense for the Dallas Cowboys, owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday in a report from The Dallas Morning News. Jones, speaking at the Senior Bowl where the Cowboys staff is evaluating draft prospects, did not name a new play-caller, but there are strong indications it will be offensive line coach Bill Callahan, who also assumed the title of offensive...

Josh Brent’s Time With The Cowboys Coming To An End?

According to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News, it’s “unlikely” that DL Josh Brent will remain on the Cowboys roster next season. Brent is currently facing charges of a DUI and manslaughter after driving under the influence and flipping his car, which led to the death of fellow Cowboy LB Jerry Brown. The charges Brent faces could land him in prison for up to 20 years...

Another Dallas Cowboys DUI charge

Another Dallas Cowboys player has been arrested on DUI charges. NT Jay Ratliff hit an 18-wheel tractor trailer with his Ford F-150 early Tuesday morning in Grapevine, Texas according to reports. Ratliff was the only occupant of the vehicle. Ratliff refused a breath test so police officers executed a search warrant and drew a blood sample. Ratliff is the second Cowboys player to be...

Cowboys NT Ratliff arrested for DWI after crash

Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Jay Ratliff was charged with driving while impaired early Tuesday after his pickup truck crashed into a 18-wheeler. Grapevine, Texas, police officer Sam Shemwell said Ratliff, who was alone in his vehicle, and the tractor-trailer driver were not injured. Ratliff was arrested at the scene when officers suspected he was intoxicated after refusing to...

Dallas Cowboys: Jay Ratliff Arrested, Latest Star To Find Trouble

Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Jay Ratliff was arrested early Tuesday morning on charges for driving while intoxicated. Ratliff was arrested shortly after he was involved in an automobile accident involving a tractor trailer after he lost control of his truck and hit the guard rail on State Highway 114. Reports from the Grapevine police department have stated that there were no injuries...

Callahan speaks out on 'sabotage' allegations

DALLAS Former NFL star Tim Brown has so frequently alleged that that his Oakland Raiders head coach Bill Callahan "sabotaged" their chances of winning Super Bowl XXXVII a decade ago that the story had taken on an "urban legend" feel in Brown's hometown of Dallas. But this week, with the Super Bowl on the horizon and with Brown as a Hall of Fame finalist,...

Finalists chosen for Whizzer White Award

Jason Witten of the Dallas Cowboys and Charles Tillman of the Chicago Bears are among five finalists for the Byron ''Whizzer'' White Award presented by the NFL Players' Association. The other finalists announced Wednesday are Charlie Batch of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chad Greenway of the Minnesota Vikings and Benjamin Watson of the Cleveland Browns. The award...

Is Flacco elite now?

I have personally never been a fan of the "elite quarterback" discussion, but this question is inevitably going to be raised following Flacco's elite-level play so far this post season. To me, his career and ascension is reminiscent of Eli Manning's. In that I mean they are both quarterbacks who have been oft-criticized for poor decision making and bad passes,...
