In their televised victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Dallas Cowboys sideline featured the hulking image of defensive tackle Josh Brent. Brent is currently charged with intoxication manslaughter as it pertains to the death of former teammate Jerry Brown. Both Brown’s family and the Cowboys have been swift to embrace Brent and not isolate him from everyone’s grieving process. Regardless of their personal choice there are those that feel as if allowing Brent to enjoy the benefit of public recognition on the Cowboys’ sideline is the wrong move to make. Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones commented on the team’s decision to envelope Brent with positivity.  Please Click Here To Read This Article & Voice Your Opinion In Our Poll.
  • A classless and tacky move by Jerry Jones, but that’s not new for Jed. It was galling to see this giant fool laughing it up on the side lines, while the man he killed was just buried. The team can support all they want to, but that doesn’t mean putting him on display on national television.

The man killed some one by his selfish , irresponsible actions. This flys in face of what we teach to our children about consequences of our actions. Again, this is not new for Jed” Jerry' Clampett Jones. He has shown what a low class hillbilly he is, since he bought the team.
  • Classless - Tacky must be talking about Jerry Jones who lives by the creed of if they talking about you that is good. It turned my stomach to see this POS laughing and joking on the sidelines yeah shows a lot of grieving going on. He is not accoutable in his mind because he is a Cowboy football player. This was the final straw screww the Cowboys never again will I root for them. Karma baby your going to come up one game short of the playoffs for the rest of Jerry Jones life I hope.
  • I was totally disgusted seeing Brent prancing around on the sideline smiling and laughing like he didn't have a care in the world. The Cowboys are a low life organization with Jerry Jones the clown leading them.
  • Why are you guys so angry? Brent made a mistake! Anyone who has experienced any death or life changing event knows you can't stay down forever. Brent like any normal human being, has grieved for his friend. Just because you saw him smile a few times doesn't mean he's not sadened about the incident. Too many people are too quick to judge. What if you were in his shoes?
  • Unfortunately, I've had too many friends die as a result of drunk driving. I've also have some of my extended family dealing with substance abuse problems. You make it sound like he's a victim of circumstance. He make a decision to drive drunk and it wasn't the first time. He already had a conviction in 2009.
I have learned from my own negative experiences that's always someone like you ready to make excuses for the guilty. You are guilty of being an enabler. I have never understood why people like you have such a problem punishing the guilty.
  • Well the way I see it, yes he made a bad decision to drive drunk, but Jerry Brown is or was a grown ass man and HE made a choice himself to get in the car with his friend that was as drunk as he was. HE chose that, not call a cab or someone else to pick him up, but HE chose to get in the car with Brent. Jerry made that choice, so dont be so quick to be so judgemental against Josh Brent. In my younger days, I...not my friends, but I made the choice to get in the car with my friends while we were all out drinking. Accidents happen, people die. Have you ever thought that when its your time to go,its your time to go no matter how it happens. It was his time to go so get over it already!
  • I don't see anyone making excuses for Brent, and I see way too many being too quick to label him POS.

Like you, I've lost a couple of friends from drunk driving. They were good, decent people, not habitual drunks or abusers. Not scumbags or "POS". You know of Brent only through this one accident, and probably have no idea what kind of person he is otherwise.

So, I've never understood people like you who know really nothing about someone, but already have them labeled as "POS" and worthless.

And by the way, Brent WILL pay for what he did. I'm sure he pays for it every day when he wakes up and realizes he caused someone else to die, and I'm also sure the legal system will probably take a big bite out of him as well.
