1. Offensive Line Tyron Smith and Nate Livings have the left side of the Dallas Cowboys line under control, but the other three positions are up for grabs. Right guard might be the most glaring hole, but there’s been talk of moving Doug Free inside, which would open up the right tackle position. D.J. Fluker could be an option in the first round. 2. Defensive Line The Cowboys don’t have a glaring hole in the defensive line, but depth is needed and a few upgrades couldn’t hurt. There transitioning to Monte Kiffin’s 4-3 defense, which means personnel changes are definitely coming. Kawann Short could be a first-round possibility. 3. Strong Safety Neither Danny McCray nor Barry Church have gotten the job done in recent years. They need to add a safety who can step up and play the run. Matt Elam would be a great addition in the second round.

Jerry Jones:Dallas Cowboys are in a rut that is akin to lying dead in a coffin.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones likes to win. So much so, that he is finally publicly stating that he has put his head coach on the hot seat. Jones has always used colorful terms to describe the state of his team. When he spoke with the Star-Telegram at the NFL Scouting Combine he went as far as to say that the Cowboys are “in a rut that is akin to lying dead in a coffin....

Cowboys S Gerald Sensabaugh A Candidate For Release?

Nick Eatmon of DallasCowboys.com writes that Cowboys S Gerald Sensabaugh could be released due to their current cap issues. As of right now, the Cowboys are projected to be $20 million over the cap, so there’s no doubt that they’ll be forced to consider making some tough roster moves. Sensabaugh, 29, has been more of a liability for the Cowboys in the secondary in recent years...

Some people have mentioned the possibility of the Dallas Cowboys moving Doug Free from tackle to guard, but it looks like that’s not going to happen right now. Jerry Jones On Cowboys: When We Win Super Bowl, Give Me Credit As GM

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is growing increasingly frustrated with his franchise’s year in and year out ineptitude, and would like to start competing for championships asap. Jones has taken share of the blame because of his personnel choices, and his unwillingness to bring in someone to be a general manager. Jones recently reiterated at the NFL Combine that he would remain...

Sources: Cowboys activate Ware cap clause

IRVING, Texas -- The activation of a cap-relief clause in DeMarcus Ware's contract is a done deal, according to Dallas Cowboys sources, who tell FOXSportsSouthwest.com that the cap-crunched franchise is working feverishly to pull the same levers that were installed in the deals given Jason Witten and Brandon Carr. A change in Witten's contract could give Dallas more than...

Source: Cowboys have no interest in Breaston

IRVING, Texas I'm not certain where the story of free-agent receiver Steve Breaston being coveted by the Dallas Cowboys as a "third receiver'' came from. But I know where the story should go: The circular file. Dallas has "zero interest'' in the seven-year veteran, a team source tells me. Breaston, 29, was cut by the Chiefs last week and is reportedly...
