Rumors are swirling around that the Dallas Cowboys are interested in Plaxico Burress, and I have to say signing him would be a good move. For one, the wide receiver position is a pretty big need. Miles Austin just hasn't been the same in the past couple of years. He's been hampered with a lot of lingering injuries, and in training camp 2012, he's having problems with injuries yet again. Then we have Dez Bryant. Personally, I'm not that high on Dez Bryant like a lot of people are, but that's probably a different disscussion for another day. Getting back on track, Dez Bryant is, well, a headcase. Bryant is a very inconsistent receiver that only knows about 2 percent of the playbook. Sometimes he'll run the right pattern, most of the time he won't. Add to the fact that he's not in tip-top condition, and he's just not that reliable. He plays for a quarter and disappears for the next three, and much like Miles Austin, he's been hampered with n...

Plaxico Burress just wants a job at this point

He was once a Super Bowl hero, heading towards greatness, but now Plaxico Burress can’t get a job. This is what happens when you shoot yourself in the leg and have a reputation for being a malcontent. Burress, who has drawn little to no interest from every conceivable team, is even telling willing to play [...]

Herm Edwards: Cowboys should sign Burress

Miles Austin's recent injured hamstring and Dez Bryant's off the field issues are two reasons why former NFL head coach Herm Edwards says the Cowboys should sign free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress. Austin, who missed six games during the 2011 season because of hamstring injuries, has been sidelined during training camp after tweaking a hamstring on Saturday. Even though...

Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Dismisses Plaxico Burress Speculation

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones squelched speculation about imminent plans to sign free-agent receiver Plaxico Burress, who played last season for the New York Jets. “Not at all. We haven’t even discussed that internally at all. That has not been discussed at any level within our organization, one way or another,” Jones said after Thursday's evening practice. Jones did say the Cowboys...

Cowboys Express Interest In WR Plaxico Burress, Jerry Jones Denies It

Plaxico Burress could end up playing for his former team’s biggest rival. Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said on the KTBB-FM radio station in Texas on Thursday that his team “wouldn’t rule out the possibility” of talking to the former Giants and Jets wide receiver. Jones did say that Dallas has “not had any talks with Plaxico or his agent” and Cowboys owner...

Report: Plaxico Burress willing to take the veteran minimum

AP Photo There were reports that free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress is still on the market because he’s asking for too much money, now it looks like he’s willing to lower his demands and accept almost anything. According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Burress is now willing to accept a one-year veteran minimum deal in order to play this season.  So far...

Free Agent WR Plaxico Burress Would Play For The Veteran Minimum

Plaxico Burress is a man without a team, after playing for the Jets last season Burress has been unable to latch on with anyone. His name has been mentioned with the Steelers since Mike Wallace is holding out, but sources say the Steelers are not interested. According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Burress does not “want to much money,’’ as one person on the...

Cowboys haven't discussed signing Burress

Multiple reports revealed Thursday that the Dallas Cowboys had preliminary discussions with agent Drew Rosenhaus regarding his client, free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress. However, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones denied those reports. "It has not been discussed at any level in our organization," Jones told reporters Thursday in Oxnard, Calif. "We...

Bouchette: Risk vs. Reward of Plaxico Burress

It looks like PlaxWatch may turn out to be legit if the PG’s Ed Bouchette’s word carries any weight. We wouldn’t mind it one bit if Plaxico Burress returned to the Steelers. We just don’t think the Steelers need him, and the Rooneys usually aren’t into picking up free agents that they don’t desperately need. But Bouchette made some good points in his post this morning...

Cowboys, Steelers keeping tabs on Burress

The early performance of Terrell Owens in Seattle, and the solid reports on older wideouts like Randy Moss in San Francisco and Miami's potty-mouthed Chad Ochocinco/Johnson (anyone see the opening episode of "Hard Knocks," in which Dolphins first-year coach Joe Philbin cautioned Johnson for dropping the F-bomb so much during a news conference?), might hasten the return...

Jimmy Johnson weighs in on Cowboys

Former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson is an entertaining follow on Twitter for any Cowboys fan. Even if you're not interested in his frequent tweets about fishing, boating or his beautiful home in the Florida Keys, there are plenty of insightful opinions about his experiences with the Cowboys and the direction of the franchise he helped win two Super Bowls. Want to know how Johnson...
