The Dallas Cowboys have learned the hard way the cost of dealing on the open market and even more so when they have missed on a player like Ken Hamlin and Roy Williams recently. The Cowboys let Chris Canty hit free agency in 2008 and he left for New York with a big paycheck, so they know the cost of a premium defensive lineman who can play the run and pass well.In 2007 the Cowboys did similarly jump on a reserve player named Jay Ratliff with a five-year extension, that move paid dividends as Ratliff became a Pro Bowl player at a bargain. That extension was a $20.9 million dollar deal as Ratliff received it as he was starting in place of injured starter Jason Ferguson.Lissemore has yet to start a game in the NFL, so his deal isn't quite as lucrative as Ratliff's with a three-year deal that maxes out at around $10 million in incentives. Should Lissemore continue to be a nice rotational role player, the Cowboys have a solid deal, should he follow along the lines of Jay Ratliff ...

NFL week 2 predictions: Dallas Cowboys on upset alert in Seattle

The Dallas Cowboys looked perfect in week one against the New York Giants. The offense, led by Tony Romo moved the ball at will against the Big Blue defense and the fans in Dallas are already predicting a run to the Super Bowl. Last week I nailed the upset in the game between the Cardinals and the Seahawks as I picked the Cardinals to win outright as small home dogs. Now it is...

It’s Back: Inconsistency! Cowboys Letdown in 27-7 Lose

I’m sure like all fans, we are just pissed off beyond belief and with plenty reason. The Cowboys let us down, simple as that. Here we are thinking the Cowboys turned the corner after a great win on the road against the champs, but then they don’t even show up in Seattle. So much for thinking the Cowboys were returning to the 90′s, no these are the same ole Cowboys – inconsistent...

Recalling the 2006 Playoff Loss. Again.

Tony Romo may never have a positive legacy because of The Botch during the 2006 playoffs. The 2006 season was the first one I covered for this blog. The Cowboys looked very mediocre early that season as Drew Bledsoe continued to earn a “statue” nickname and Terrell Owens did little to help the Cowboys stand out. Then came the emergence of a new quarterback. He played college...

Tony Romo To Receive Contract Extension From Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys (Jerry Jones) have made it clear that they want to keep Tony Romo on the Cowboys for years to come. According to ESPN, Jones has based his interest in extending Tony Romo's contract with the Cowboys past 2013. The Cowboys are motivated in keeping, as it's being said by a few people, in Dallas, that the Cowboys have the pieces together to become a contender...

Golden Tate destroys Sean Lee with a block

There is no doubt football is a violent game but this hit on Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee by Golden Tate was vicious. Tate even celebrated after the hit, crawling to the ground and then pointing to his name on the jersey. Not sure it was right to celebrate a hit where the player didn’t even know it was coming? Then again, Tate is a wide receiver. Lee would be taken off...

Dallas Cowboys need to be weary of Leon Washington

When the Dallas Cowboys take on the Seattle Seahawks, there will be a lot of focus on shutting down the Seahawks offense. After a rather vanilla game plan last week vs. Arizona, Dallas will look to take advantage of rookie QB Russell Wilson and force him into mistakes. They will also likely stuff the box full of run stoppers to try and account for Marshawn Lynch. Lynch represents...

Dallas Cowboys week 2 fantasy outlook

Ah, the weekend is finally here. It’s time for sleeping in, lawn work, and of course, last minute fantasy football alterations. Being only Week 2, I hope all of you have not lost your optimism just yet. So what if you started 0-1? So did half of your league. So what if you scored 17 points, with 9 coming from your kicker? Well, then you might be in trouble. But, the season...

Bobblehead Tony Romo returns to Seattle, the scene of the crying shame

Don’t bobble this one, Tony Tony Romo bobbled the snap on a potential chip-shot field goal that would have given his Cowboys the lead over the Seattle Seahawks. It was one unfortunate play in an otherwise solid performance—including his guiding the team down the field to set up the potential game-winning 19 yard field goal. Tony Romo was the Cinderella story of...

Cowboys DT Ratliff, C Costa to miss Sunday's game

Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Jay Ratliff is out this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks with an ankle injury. Ratliff also missed the season opener last week against the New York Giants. Josh Brent will start again in Ratliff's place. "He's making progress. He's getting better every day and trying to do more and more," coach Jason Garrett told the Dallas...

A source says Cowboys have informed Tony Romo they want extension and very preliminary contract talks have occurred. #nfl #cowboys — Ed Werder (@Edwerderespn) September 14, 2012 Romo’s current contract isn...

Grantland.com's Bill Simmons says Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has the biggest boner of NFL history

Grantland.com's Bill Simmons was on ESPN’s PTI this week and he's added Cowboys QB Tony Romo to the list that has NY Giants legend Harry Carsons at the top. Biggest penis in sports. Why not click... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~ http://www.bobsblitz.com

Report: Extension between Cowboys and Tony Romo is unlikely

Earlier today Ed Werder of ESPN reported that the Cowboys and the reps of Tony Romo have had preliminary discussions towards getting a contract extension done. According to Mike Florio of PoFootballTalk.com, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says they’re not looking to extend Romo’s contract. Florio also mentioned that a source told him that an extension is unlikely right now. A source...

Video: Golden Tate's vicious block on Sean Lee

The possible highight of the day goes to Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate for this decleating of Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee during Seattle's 8-play, 90-yard drive that ended in a touchdown, and pretty much sealed the victory for teh Seahawks. As QB Russell Wilson scrambled for a first down, he gets some help from Tate, who absolutely crushes a unsuspecting Sean Lee. No flags...
