The Dallas Cowboys have arguably the two most valuable free agent acquisitions this season in receiver Laurent Robinson and running back Sammy Morris. The Cowboys signed both players when stars went down with injuries as fill-ins, but Dallas couldn’t have imagined the impact Robinson and Morris have had on the team. Robinson was signed early in the season after Cowboys receiver Miles Austin injured his hamstring back in Week 2. Since then, the journeyman has caught 49 Tony Romo passes for 792 yards and scored nine touchdowns. That includes two multiple touchdown games, both Cowboys victories. Robinson will earn $700,000 in 2011, but you can bet Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones will extend his contract and bump up his pay a little bit. Although the Cowboys have two good receivers in Dez Bryant and Austin, both are injury-prone. Plus, Robinson has proven he’s just as valuable as the team’s third receiver; he’s scored a touchdown in each of the Cowboys’ past two games with both Austin an...

Laurent Robinson Active For Dallas

Wide receiver Laurent Robinson is active for Saturday night's game vs. Tampa Bay. Fantasy Spin: Robinson was listed as questionable while nursing a shoulder ailment, but was never in jeopardy of missing the contest - and he should be plugged into fantasy lineups against Tampa Bays 27th ranked pass defense.

Felix Jones, Sammy Morris Provide Balance to Cowboys’ Offense in Win Over Buccaneers

The Dallas Cowboys made an excellent personnel move signing running back Sammy Morris on Tuesday. After DeMarco Murray was lost for the season with a broken ankle, Dallas was left with Felix Jones as the team’s only healthy running back. During the Cowboys’ 31-15 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday, Jones and Morris showed they are more than capable of handling Dallas’...

Ready & Waiting

In his 12 pro seasons, veteran RB Sammy Morris has worn many hats. From special teamer to backup to occasionally starter, he's done it all. So if he has to start or get extended reps this week, he's more than ready.

Morris ready to Run

IRVING, Tex. - A couple of weeks ago, Sammy Morris was at home after having been waived by the New England Patriots, well aware that his playing career might be over.

More Is Better

In signing a veteran like Sammy Morris to address their backfield depth issues following the loss of DeMarco Murray, the idea was twofold.

Cowboys RB Felix Jones misses practice

The Dallas Cowboys are running out of running backs. Felix Jones missed practice Tuesday because of hamstring tightness, leaving the NFC East-leading Cowboys with Sammy Morris and Chauncey Washington. Neither was even with an NFL team at Thanksgiving. Coach Jason Garrett is hopeful that Jones will be able to practice this week and play in Saturday's regular-season home finale...

Jay grad ready to start for Cowboys after Felix Jones misses practice

IRVING – With Felix Jones missing practice Tuesday with what Cowboys coach Jason Garrett termed a “tight” hamstring, 34-year-old Jay graduate Sammy Morris is gearing up for a bigger role – possibly even a start – in Saturday’s crucial NFC East game with the Philadelphia Eagles.  “I signed up for it, so I’m ready for it,” Morris said. It’s been a whirlwind...

No prima donnas among Cowboys wideouts

IRVING – A share-the-wealth philosophy permeates the Cowboys receiving corps this season. That unselfish approach was evident in Saturday’s 31-15 win over Tampa Bay when Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Laurent Robinson each caught touchdown passes in the first half as Dallas built a 28-0 halftime lead. Each receiver caught at least three passes against the Bucs, with Austin...

The Dallas Cowboys defeat the hapless Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 31-15

(Photo by J. Meric) The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had their losing streak extended to eight games when the Dallas Cowboys defeated them at home on Saturday night, 31-15. The Cowboys came into the game riding a two game losing streak of their own. But as the win helped Dallas’ playoff chances, it most likely hurt the chances that Buc’s Head Coach Raheem Morris will return for...
