The Football Fan Spot:
Last week: 16 (-1)
The good news for the Cowboys is that they rank 8th in yards per play differential and 7th in rate of sustaining drives differential. The biggest issue, by far, has been turnover differential so far for them, as they have a turnover differential of -11, 2nd worst in the NFL. The good news is that turnover differentials are incredibly inconsistent, as seen here. Tony Romo, specifically, has an interception rate of 4.6%. Despite his reputation as a turnover machine, his interception rate was only 2.8% coming into the season. In fact, 13 is the most he’s had in a season since 2008, and it’s been 7 games. That will regress to the mean going forward. I’m actually impressed they were able to keep it so close with the Giants despite losing the turnover battle by 4. Don’t count them out yet.
RG Mackenzy Bernadeau: 1 quarterback hurry on 69 pass block snaps, run blocked for -3 yards on 3 attempts
TE Jason Witten: Caught 18 passes for 167 yards on 23 attem...

IRVING, Texas Every interception thrown by Tony Romo isn't necessarily his fault. That was a point Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones was trying to make during Thursday's practice at Valley Ranch.
Romo has thrown a league-high 13 interceptions this season with nine of them coming in his last two games at Cowboys Stadium.
"There's a lot of things that...
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has thrown nine interceptions in his last two games at Cowboys Stadium with four coming in Sunday's 29-24 loss to the New York Giants. The franchise quarterback that has never tossed more than 19 picks in a season is on pace to throw 30 this year.
At 32, critics are wondering out loud if Romo should be the Cowboys' quarterback of the future...
Tony Romo has thrown more interceptions than any other NFL quarterback through the first eight weeks of the season. Some probably believe the Cowboys starting quarterback should be benched.
But it's not that simple. All of Romo's turnovers aren't solely his fault and there is no guarantee that Cowboys backup quarterback Kyle Orton would have better results with the same...
The Cowboys can not run block, forcing Tony Romo to pass 62 times on Sunday, but the Patriots o-hogs are as good as any of Belichick's history.
As the old saying goes, “As Lawerence Tynes goes so do the New York Giants”…and this week was no different. The Giants were able to hold off a fierce attack as Tony Romo was throwing balls right at defenders with no mercy.
Tynes has had a fabulous season and the Giants are off to a good start. He is 24-26 on the season from field goal range with his only two misses being...
IRVING, Texas -- The error-prone Cowboys haven't been good enough to bob over .500 and are 0-7 in their last seven Sunday night games. This week's Sunday night foe, Atlanta, has been so crisp through seven games that the Falcons have yet to lose. And yet Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is willing to "guarantee" a win for Dallas as long as you hear the "if"...
Newest member of the WFNY team Ryan Jones joined me a couple nights ago to talk about the Browns and the Cavs and what it’s like to be a Clevelander transplanted into the heart of Texas.
Dallas fans and their relationship with Tony Romo
Is it a football fan’s worst nightmare to have to rely on Tony Romo who is just good enough not to be replaced?
Anderson Varejao and his amazing...
All the most notable announcing flubs, moments of innuendo, and downright headscratchers from each and every week of the NFL season come at you Straight Outta Stockton. This week brings Troy Aikman extolling the virtues of Tony Romo, a cameo pun from Jim Nantz in London, and we've waited until Tuesday morning to feature Jon Gruden's love for anything that moves!
The Friday Blitz this week will be short and to the point. I have some concerns and some thoughts on the upcoming game.
First, here are some of my concerns heading into the Dallas game. Sean Weatherspoon is expected to be inactive Sunday Night with an ankle injury. Do I think it is serious? No, but he is without a doubt our leader on defense. Lose your leader = bad things can...
The Dallas Cowboys will travel to the Georgia Dome and look to achieve a .500 record and hand a red-hot Atlanta Falcons team their first loss of the season. Last week against the reigning Super Bowl champion New York Giants, quarterback Tony Romo threw four interceptions but a 437-yard and two touchdown game (including one rushing) salvaged his day.Romo will be facing the 10th ranked...

Before the regular season began, I hoped the Seahawks could be 4-4 halfway through the season. They could have very well been 3-5, or 2-6 -- They played five games on the road; their three home games...
