Fantasy owners and Dallas Cowboys fans alike winced Sunday night when quarterback Tony Romo was pinched between two New York Giants, and went down in a heap. Romo was on the field for a bit and was in what looked to be serious pain. Well breathe easy guys, it looks like he’s going to be OK. Romo had X-rays on his ribs that came back negative on Monday. It looks like he just has bruised ribs, but the fact that he avoided a fracture is huge for the Cowboys and fantasy owners. During Dallas’ 36-31 win over the Giants on Sunday night, Romo threw for 263 yards and two touchdowns, while tossing an interception. Considering his injury came at the end of the first half and that he played through it for the rest of the game, this was probably not something that was going to keep Romo from missing games. But it could have certainly hindered his performance. In 2011 Romo played through a cracked rib, and it appeared something equally as serious had happened when Mathias Kiwanuka and Justin Trattou combined to level him during the second quarter Sunday night. But it looks like the 33-year-old is going to be fine. That’s not the only big injury news for the Cowboys, as receiver Dez Bryant is undergoing an MRI on his sprained right foot. X-rays were negative for the 24-year-old wideout, but the MRI will give the team more information as to what’s wrong. Bryant had just four receptions for 22 yards on Sunday night after facing double teams for the entire game. The Oklahoma State product claims he expects to play in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but until he gets the results of his MRI, there is no way to know his status. We will keep you updated on what we hear about both players and their statuses heading into Week 2.
