The Dallas Stars aren’t taking any prisoners in an intracity squabble between the hockey team and their football counterpart in the heart of Texas. After an apparent sleight by the Dallas Cowboys’ official Twitter feed (since deleted) along the lines of “nobody cares about hockey,” the Stars’ feed fired back with a reminder that at least one team in the city has brought home a championship lately. At least our #9 got the job done..... RT:" @DallasCowboys Similarly in the category of nobody-cares…the NHL is back!" http://t.co/06y0e6iG— Dallas Stars (@DallasStars) January 08, 2013 The Stars’ No. 9, of course, would be Mike Modano, who led the team to a Stanley Cup victory in 1999. The Cowboys’ Tony Romo, who also wears No. 9, has famously failed on the big stage in games, and his three interceptions in a must-win Week 17 game this year didn’t do his un-clutch reputation any favors. The Cowboys did back off, however, and the Stars appear to have moved on from the episode. Apology accepted“@dallascowboys: @DallasStars our sincere apologies for the inappropriate tweet posted accidentally. Good luck this season.”— Dallas Stars (@DallasStars) January 08, 2013
