Found February 05, 2009 on Dallas Cowboy Blog:
For awhile, it looked like Dan Reeves was going back to the Dallas Cowboys, the team he began his NFL career with as a player and later continued it as a coach under Tom Landry. A contract had apparently been agreed upon between Reeves and the Cowboys, although his exact title was not revealed;?but when the details were being ironed out, there were sticking points that Reeves could not agree with, so both parties parted ways. Reeves has demonstrated his ability to form good teams, taking four teams to the Super Bowl as a coach, although none of those teams won the "Big Game." Jones has done manny good things with the Cowboys, but his weakness is bringing talented players together that cannot seem to function as a team. That is Reeves's strong point. They would have been great together. Too bad it did not happen.
