PHOENIX — Arizona defensive tackle Darnell Dockett has received a “six-figure” fine from the Cardinals for his behavior in the waning seconds in a 7-6 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed Friday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the punishment had not been made public. The exact size of the fine was not known, and it was uncertain whether the punishment would affect Dockett’s participation Sunday in Seattle. Dockett refused to go along with a coach’s directive to allow the Jets to score late in the game so the Cardinals could get the ball back and go for the tying touchdown. He indicated in a tweet Friday night that he was appealing through the players’ union. “Thank God for the @nflpa,” Dockett wrote. “That’s all I got to say… I ain’t got no worries.” The fine was first reported by XTRA-AM 910 sports talk show host and Cardinals reporter Mike Jurecki. The punishment stems from a directive from the coaching staff to

Kevin Kolb still isn’t healthy

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb told Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com that his broken ribs still aren’t completely healed. “A lot of the (slow recovery) goes back to the injury itself,” Kolb said. “The way that my ribs are broken, they aren’t completely healed. “Whenever the cartilage broke, (the ribs) are laying underneath my sternum. That’s how they are trying...

Seahawks recover a bizarre, bouncing muffed punt for TD against Cardinals

This ball was like a hot potato, every time someone touched it, it bounced around even more.Arizona Cardinals CB/PR Patrick Peterson took his eyes off the ball to check out the guys that were barreling down towards him and he muffed it.  Then when he tried to recover it, the ridiculous bouncing ball started, with Malcolm Smith finally recovering it for Seattle and scoring.Remember...

Larry Fitzgerald Continues To Disappoint vs. Seattle

In his most frustrating game yet, Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald only caught one pass on 11 targets Sunday against the Seahawks in a 58-0 loss.Fantasy Spin:Arizona's QB situation is one of the worst we've ever seen and it's destroying Fitzgerald's fantasy value. Fitzgerald has six receptions on 37 targets over his last four games and is probably longing for the...

Cardinals Injury Report: Kevin Kolb, John Skelton, Calais Campbell

While Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb has been able to return to practice in a limited capacity this week, the team has already named QB John Skelton as its starter for this weekend’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Cards make it clear: Time for Whisenhunt to go

Theres no sense belaboring this. Michael Bidwill should fire coach Ken Whisenhunt, and he should do it now. It will be an empty gesture. Nobodys going to win with the offense the Cardinals trot on the field each week. Nobodys going to win with John Skelton and Ryan Lindley at quarterback. Nobodys going to win with eight turnovers. It will be a reactionary gesture, too. But you...

Are You There Larry? It’s Me, Vince.

It’s no secret that the Arizona Cardinals need a solid starting quarterback. After watching today’s drubbing at the hands of the Seahawks, former Titans/Eagles/Bills quarterback Vince Young took to Twitter to see if he could find some work. Naturally, he figured Larry Fitzgerald would be the best guy to talk to.  He also figured Twitter was the best way to go about soliciting...

Fantasy Football News – Beanie Wells Questionable Against Seattle

Fantasy Football News - The Arizona Cardinals running back is listed as questionable going into the week 14 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Beanie was limited in practice Friday and is averaging a terrible 2.2 YPC after missing 7 games earlier this year. FFLockerRoom Take - Let me be frank. I do not like Beanie Wells as an NFL running back. I never have. I know that the Cardinals...

QB play has NFC West (except Cards) on rise

TEMPE, Ariz. Early Doucet remembers when achieving mediocrity gave you a good chance to win the NFC West. Since the Cardinals joined the division before the 2002 season, four of the 10 division winners have had a 9-7 record or worse -- capped by Seattles 7-9 mark in 2010 -- and only three division winners over that stretch have managed more than 10 wins. The NFC West hasnt produced...

Cardinals at Seahawks: Trap Game or Easy Victory?

On paper, tomorrow's Week 14 matchup against the Cardinals looks like an easy victory. Since starting hot at 4-0, the Arizona Cardinals have bumped into a slew of problems on both sides of the ball and slipped into a nightmare scenario, losing their last eight straight. Coach Ken Whishenhunt inexplicably benched QB John Skelton in Week 12 in favor of rookie Ryan Lindley, with...
