This is the pot calling the kettle black — and also telling the kettle to stop being black. Injured Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, who has made his name in the NFL just as much for his bragging and high demands as he has for his shutdown cornerback play, is telling his Jets teammates to cool it as they look to rebound from a 4-7 start. “Guys just need to shut up,” he said at the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, N.J., on Saturday morning, where he was promoting the release of his training shoe, called the Nike Revis Zoome 1, according to Newsday. Revis has been out since Week 3, but that hasn’t kept him from doing some backseat driving for the Jets. He’s been at the team’s practice facility regularly and said he’s been coaching his teammates all the while. “Quit talking crazy to the media, especially involving your teammates,” he said. “I think that’s the worst, because when you do that, that’s when it really gets divided, because you don’t know if you can trust your other teammate.” When asked what the Jets need to do specifically to turn their season around, Revis had some more salient advice — although this was more of the “you need to win games to having a winning record” variety. “If we can get this winning streak going, then it’ll brighten our chances of getting into the playoffs,” he said. You think? It’s always good to have Revis Island on your side. Photo of the Day We miss him, too. Quote of the Day “Some guys smoke. Some guys drink. Some guys chase women.
