As indicated by various reports throughout the day, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports being the first, David Caldwell has been named the Jaguars' new general manager. Caldwell has been the frontrunner for the Jaguars' open general manager position, but it was reported that contract negotiations were far apart, and money threatened to de-rail the deal. In the end, the Jaguars and Caldwell came to an agreement. Jaguars owner Shahid Khan was pleased with the outcome of his search, saying in a statement, "We got our man, I have a lot of faith in David Caldwell and I can assure our fans that the best days for the Jacksonville Jaguars are in front of us." The move is good news for the Jaguars, but it means more confusion will follow.
