Though he’s been out of work since the Jaguars inexplicably waived him before the season began, quarterback David Garrard still feels like he can contribute to an NFL team this year. Per ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, Garrard took time out on Saturday to reinforce a few points, the most important being he’s a football player first and foremost, and would like the opportunity to prove that to a “committed” organization. “There’s been a lot of speculation about me that I don’t appreciate,” said Garrard on Saturday. “I was going to lay low with the media but I feel I have to protect my name. I just want to make it clear that I’m a football player, I want to be with a team and be with an organization that will be as committed to me as I will be to them.” The speculation he’s referring to centers around the Dolphins, who courted him shortly after he was let loose by Jacksonville on September 6, and again this week, when the ‘Fins lost starter Chad Henne for the season...
