Found November 10, 2012 on Buffalo Wins:
There's only so many ways you can talk about a bully beating up the nerdy kid and stealing his lunch money before it gets boring.   I tried to come up with a new angle to discuss the Bills-Patriots "rivalry" for this week's predictions post, but ended up taking a different approach for my submission because it got too lengthy.  Instead, I thought I'd turn my original angle into a full-fledged post.  That angle, in a nutshell: doesn't it feel like the second Bills/Pats matchup of the year is the one in which the Bills are more likely to get crushed?  Indeed, I couldn't escape the feeling that the Patriots seem to let the Bills hang around in the first game of the season (and sometimes, the Bills may even win!  Gasp!), but in the second matchup the gloves are off and we're gonna get stomped. To see if I was right, I looked up the scores of every Bills/Pats game since 2000. 2000: Game 1, Bills 16-13; Game 2, Pats 13-10 2001: Game 1: P...

Bills fan sues team over excessive text messages

As if losing four straight Super Bowls and not having a winning record since 2004 wasn’t bad enough. One Buffalo Bills fan thinks three extra text messages is worth a lawsuit against his favorite team. Jerry Wojcik, a Bills fan living in Tampa, Fla., is suing the franchise after signing up to receive text updates from Buffalo’s website. Wojcik said he signed up after seeing...

Bills' Chris Kelsay's neck injury not serious, hopes to play against Pats

Buffalo Bills DE Chris Kelsay says that doctors have determined his neck injury to be nothing too serious, and he hopes to be out there on the field when the team takes on the Patriots Sunday. His status will most likely be a game time decision. "It's not major, but I don't know if he can get ready for this week," head coach Chan Gailey told ESPN. "We have...

Buddy Nix’ Lack of Confidence in Ryan Fitzpatrick Understandable, But Recent Comments Won’t Help Matters

Buddy Nix is like everyone else in Buffalo; fed up with the team’s quarterback play. The only difference is that Nix is the Bills’ general manager, and his criticism could have an adverse effect on the team. There are undoubtedly times when a player needs to be called out, reprimanded or otherwise have a fire lit under their keister, but the time probably isn’t 13 months into...

This is it for the Bills

Three and six. That is what the Buffalo Bills are staring right in the face on Sunday if they can’t pull out a win against the hated New England Patriots. The team needs a win to save their season and give them a glimmer of hope that this could still be the year that they end their 12 year playoff drought. However, there really isn’t that much confidence that the team can get...

PREVIEW: Patriots - Bills

Buffalo Bills play try to knock off the division leading Patriots Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.

Ryan Fitzpatrick Calls Brandon Spikes a ‘Punk,’ ‘Took a Cheap Shot’ in Earlier Game

Since the Bills and Patriots are (most likely) done playing each other this season, it looks like Brandon Spikes won’t have another opportunity to lay more lumber on Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2012. Following New England’s 37-31 victory at Gillette on Sunday, the Harvard grad took a parting shot at the Patriots’ linebacker in his press conference. “I think...

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots: Three Bold Predictions

Believe it or not NFL.com has this Sunday's match-up between the Buffalo Bills (3-5) vs. the New England Patriots (5-3) ranked as the fourth most intriguing game on the docket. It may not be intriguing because it's between two power house teams, in fact it's between the first place Patriots and last place Bills. It's not pitting two dominant defenses against powerhouse...

Patriots try to continue their trek to the playoffs against the Bills

Devin McCourty picking off one of his two passes against the Bills in Week 4 Buffalo Bills (3-5) @ New England Patriots (5-3) In week 4, the Patriots beat the Bills 52-28, which sounds like (and eventually was) a sound beating but in the the 3rd quarter the Bills led 21-7 before the Patriots tore off 6 straight scoring drives.  The Patriots gave up 438 yards of total offense but...

CLNS Staff Predictions: Bills at Patriots Week 10

After a much needed bye week, the New England Patriots get back into action on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills at home. The Patriots beat Buffalo 52-28 in late September. This week’s game could be another high scoring game for Patriots as they will be playing a injury riddled Buffalo team. Here are your CLNS [...]

Bills vs. Patriots: Who can give up fewest big plays?

BY NICK ST. DENISThe Buffalo Bills' and New England Patriots' defenses have one major trait in common: a knack for giving up the home run.No team has given up more passing plays of 20 yards or more than the Patriots, who have surrendered 42 completions of that kind. Buffalo is on the other end of the spectrum, having given up more rushing plays of 20 yards or more (13) than...

Robert Kraft Said to Have Called Bill Belichick a ‘Schmuck’ Over Choices Made in Spygate Scandal

That little Spygate situation certainly complicated life for Robert Kraft and the Patriots. And considering that the offenses coach Bill Belichick was accused of committing — taping signals to get his team a competitive advantage — didn’t even end up helping that much, it wouldn’t be surprising if Kraft gave Belichick a little swat for the whole affair. It turns out Kraft...

Robert Kraft: Bill Belichick "a schmuck"

No-one likes to get into trouble with their boss, even if he's one of the nicer men in the business. But when you damage your teams reputation, and cost them money, even Robert Kraft won't be happy, as Bill Belichick learned after the "spygate" revelations. Thanks to the nfl.com article for this snippet of Kraft's conversation with Gary Myers, who has written...

Round Table: Aquib Talib Trade

What are your thoughts on the Aquib Talib trade?  Will this move be enough to fix the Patriots secondary? Jason: I met news of the Talib trade with a resounding "meh." There really isn't any fixing this secondary; it's more a matter of bailing out that sinking lifeboat with your hands and hoping it gets close enough to shore that you can swim the rest of the...
