Shaun Ellis is unlikely to be back with the New England Patriots, observes Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe in his postseason analysis of the team. Ellis had just two sacks in New England, and though he brings a strong locker room presence, at 35 his productivity may be in decline, says Bedard. It remains to be seen if another team would be willing to take a flier on the veteran who made $4 million as a Patriot last season.

Report: BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Patriots Have Had 'On and Off' Contract Talks With Free Agency Looming

BenJarvus Green-Ellis isn't the flashiest running back in the NFL, but he's one of the most reliable. So with Green-Ellis set to become an unrestricted free agent once NFL's free-agency period begins on March 13, there's some question as to what kind of deal "The Law Firm" will command, and whether the Patriots will pay the money it will take to retain him...

Brandon Lloyd to the New England Patriots Makes Perfect Sense

By the start of the 2012 NFL season, Tom Brady will be turning 35 years old with three years left on his contract and time running out to win his fourth Super Bowl.  In not only Brady’s best interest, but in the best interest of the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick and the team’s front office need to surround Brady with as much talent as they possibly can—and free...

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week got a taste of football on Tuesday. ESPN on-air personality Erin Andrews was at the event and took a loaded question about Super Bowl XLVI, according to Newsday. When asked for her thoughts on Gisele Bundchen's reaction to husband Tom Brady's Super Bowl loss, Andrews came to Bundchen's defense. "It was in the heat of the moment," Andrews...

Tom Brady re-injured shoulder in SB XLVI

Adding injury to insult, it’s been revealed that Tom Brady aggravated a previous injury during the Pats’ Super Bowl XLVI loss to the Giants. CSN New England reports that Brady re-injured his left shoulder after a third quarter sack by New York’s Justin Tuck left him reeling on the turf. Brady originally bruised the shoulder against the Dolphins in Week 16, leading some to speculate...

Season Ending Patriots Media Thoughts

Much like the Patriots season, the performance of the media covering the team this season was marked by highs and lows. For the most part, the day-to-day coverage from the beat reporters was solid. It’s a veteran group, who understand how things work down in Foxborough, and have learned to make the best of what can be a challenging situation for the media. Beat reporters generally...

NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock believes for the Patriots “it’s gotta be all about defense”

Earlier today, NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock, one of the best in the business, gave a conference call aimed at offering an education for the NFL Combine. It was, as you’d expect, awesome. To no one’s surprise, it got Patriots-centric quick, as I jumped in with the second question on the call asking Mayock what he thought the Patriots priority was for the 2012 draft. I wondered...

Video of the day: Start your morning off with Gronk doing the Dizzy Izzy from two summers ago

I have no explanation for this video. No reason for it. And no idea how I am only seeing this now. I mean, where have I been? In honor of Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski tweeting his thanks for the support yesterday, we present a video of him doing the Dizzy Izzy bat-spinning game from the summer of 2010 when his brother Gordie was a corner infielder for the Worcester Tornadoes. And thanks...
