Defense doing its part too

ARLINGTON - The Cowboys' big offensive plays have overshadowed another fine effort by the defense. Oakland failed to cross midfield in the first half, meaning the Cowboys are on track for their first shutout since they blanked Washington 27-0 on Dec. 14, 2003, Bill Parcells' first year as head coach. Dallas' only Thanksgiving Day shut out came on Nov. 25, 1999 when they blanked Miami 20-0. The Cowboys ended the first half with a sack and forced fumble by DeMarcus Ware. Anthony Spencer also has a sack. Of course, it helps when the quarterback is as bad as Bruce Gradkowski, who is 5 of 15 for 42 yards.
