With Lance Dunbar now on injured reserve with a knee injury, DeMarco Murray’s role within the Cowboys offense is expected expand. “DeMarco Murray is our lead back, has been our lead back all year long, has done an excellent job for us, did a really good job in the game the other day again,” coach Jason Garrett said via ESPNDallas.com. “He’ll be the lead dog. The other guys, Joseph Randle and Phillip Tanner will have to step up if they have an opportunity if DeMarco can’t go.” Garrett doesn’t sound inclined to give Joseph Randle or Phillip Tanner many carries. “We’d like to get the other backs in, give them a role, give a chance to give DeMarco rest, play a series, whatever that is,” Garrett said. “We’ll come up with what those substitution patterns are as the week goes on. We certainly feel confident in putting those other guys in the game though.” Need NFL Tickets? Loading... Finally someone besides myself has an answer for the Cowboys December struggles.
During his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Jones blamed the Cowboys recent December Struggles on poor defensive play, and didn’t heap all the blame on the shoulders of Tony Romo.
“I think when I look at last year there’s no question, I’m gonna talk about Rob Ryan a minute, there’s...
News from Sports Day DFW:
A year ago on December 8th, the Dallas Cowboys suffered a heart breaking loss as they said goodbye to one of their practice squad players Jerry Brown. Last year on December 8th Jerry Brown was involved in a fatal auto accident with his longtime friend and teammate Josh Brent. When police pulled up to the scene of the accident, they arrived to see a...
It looks like the Dallas Cowboys will be getting their best linebacker back, and not a moment too soon, as the Boys look to make a push for the playoffs and stay in the lead for the NFC East crown.
The announcement came from Jerry Jones (because of course it did) on a radio show. Lee has missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury during which the Dallas defense has...

The Cowboys have won two straight, are now 7-5 on the season, and lead the NFC East.
Bad news: The Eagles, on a four-game winning streak, are also 7-5, and the two teams meet in the regular-season finale in a matchup that not only could decide the NFC East, but who advances to the playoffs.
So it with with measured optimism that Dallas owner and general manager Jerry Jones looks...

Lee was looking at a three-to-four week...
The Dallas Cowboys aren’t December babies. The blustery winds of November fit them better than the frigid cold temperatures of December and January. They have just two playoff wins since 1996 and always find a way to shrink at the end of the season. No different than any other December, the Cowboys find themselves in another must win situation. They are technically leading the NFC...
For wildly different reasons, the last two games have given hope to fans who want to see this offense click after weeks of getting stuck in neutral.
In New York, it was plenty more play-action passing and we saw plenty of Dez Bryant sitting in the slot and being moved all over the field. That was a welcome change that was long overdue. Then, 4 days later against the Oakland Raiders...
IRVING, Texas -- The weeks remaining in the NFL season? Four. The Dallas Cowboys' magic number? Four.
And, as coach Jason Garrett noted Tuesday, "It's great that we control our own destiny.''
But if you think the numbers are all as neatly tied together as a Christmas-package bow you first need to peek inside the gift box.
The math is correct: For the Cowboys...
