Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware is the last player on the team who should take the blame for Sunday’s 34-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles; he recorded a career-high four sacks in the contest. Ware also doesn’t believe the blame belongs to Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, who publicly took the wrap for his team after the embarrassing loss. On Wednesday, Ware addressed that issue and vowed that what the Eagles did to the Cowboys won’t happen again. “He’s not going to let his players take the blame for what happened, but it’s partially on everybody,” Ware said. “We’re not going to let him down anymore.” The Cowboys’ defense gave up season highs to the Eagles in almost every category, especially the running game. Eagles running back LeSean McCoy recorded twice as many rushing yards in the contest than the Cowboys had previously allowed to opposing teams on average this season. After the game, Ryan said his play-calling put Dallas at a disadvantage...

For Cowboys’ Linebacker DeMarcus Ware, Life is All About Family

Though Dallas Cowboys’ star, DeMarcus Ware, is one of the NFL’s most prolific and dominant defenders, the Cowboy linebacker understands that life is simply not about football; it’s about family. Closing In On All-Time Sack Mark, Ware Focused On Seattle

After bringing down Michael Vick four times in last Sunday’s 34-7 loss to the Eagles in Philly--arguable the only real bright spot in that game--DeMarcus Ware is just 2.5 sacks away from overtaking Jim Jeffcoat as the franchise leader in terms of sacks. But with Dallas sitting at 3-4, Ware isn’t all that interested in discussing the bit of history he’s poised...

DeMarcus Ware not talking about the sack record

With 12 sacks in seven games, DeMarcus Ware is on pace to finish the year with an NFL-record 27 sacks this year. But he’s not going to talk about his chances of topping Michael Strahan’s record of 22.5 “As a pass-rusher, you’re always aware of what you have but you just don’t talk about it,”…

Quant Coach: An ounce of prevention adds up

While The QuantCoach finds individual sack statistics to be meaningless (DeMarcus Ware, four sacks in a 27-point loss?), teams that prevented pass attempts did very well in Week 8.....

Witten 6 Catches Away From Passing Hall of Fame TE

We know DeMarcus Ware is closing- in on the Cowboys all-time sack record, which he’ll break, and he’s well on his way to possibly break the single season sack record held by Michael Strahan. Another proud milestone could happen this Sunday against the Seahawks and it revolves around Jason Witten. During the offseason, I wrote an article about how Witten is quietly putting...

Breakdown: The Eagles counter trap demolition

Our mission on Wednesday is to pick a vital moment or moments from the game and discuss the strategy and execution of a given play from the standpoint of both teams. Of course, in a blowout of this magnitude, it would be stretching the truth to call any one scenario "vital", but for the Eagles demolition from this past Sunday, let's take a hard look at the play that...
