On Thursday, the NFL fine Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware for his hit on Ben Roethlisberger last week, ESPNDallas.com reported Thursday, citing a source. Ware was called for a roughing the passer penatly when he smacked Big Ben in the back of his helmet with his arm. The 15-yard penalty was late in the fourth quarter with the game tied up at 24, and DeMarcus is damn lucky it didn't cost his team the game. The next two consecutive plays resulted in in two sacks, forcing the Steelers to punt. In other news, Ware is battling a shoulder injury, but says he should be good to go vs. the Saints. “I feel good enough to play next week,” Ware said, per the Dallas Morning News. “You get bumps and bruises here and there, elbow and shoulder, whatever it is, I just have to get out there and play.”

Playoff picture week 16: Tony Romo says he can bring the Cowboys back from any deficit, his play backs it up and their playoff hopes may depend on it

The NFC East has been tight all season and the final two weeks are shaping up to be interesting to say the least. Right now, the Redskins and rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III lead the division with two games to play. As you’ll see in our week 16 playoff picture, it’s conceivable that two teams wind up at 10-6 and into the playoffs but I think when the dust settles the Dallas...

Rob Ryan's bold moves help lead to victory

The Cowboys have had a very odd year with regards to their defense. So much so that at times you do just look at the personnel available and concede that to judge these players against a normal grading system is just unfair. Then, you admit that injuries happen all of the league and there are no sympathy cards arriving in the mailbox. You also see that you are in the middle of...

Sometimes pictures of the party are even better than the calendar...

Witten eyes record after spleen injury, slow start

(Eds: APNewsNow. With AP Photos.) By SCHUYLER DIXON AP Sports Writer Jason Witten had nearly as many drops as catches through three games, back when his side still hurt just about every time he moved because of a lacerated spleen. The Dallas Cowboys tight end dismissed the suggestion that the injury had anything to do with an uncharacteristic case of stone hands. The seven-time...

QB Tony Romo Says Cowboys Will Find A Way To Win If Within 10-14 Points

Perhaps the biggest difference in the Cowboys’ last six games is that they’ve been able to average over 15 points in the fourth quarter during that stretch, Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News reports. After averaging 5.3 points in the fourth quarter during the first eight games of the season, the Cowboys have outscored their opponents 94 (15.6 average) to 39 (6.5) during...

New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys: Week 16 NFL Pick

New Orleans Saints (6-8) at Dallas Cowboys (8-6) The Cowboys entered December at 6-6 after a rough month of November, traditionally a strong month for them, and it looked unlikely that they would be unable to choke again this December, mostly because there would be nothing to choke away. However, after two straight wins, they are at 8-6 and in control of their own destiny, which...

A Look Back (1973): Cowboys Thump Saints on Monday Night Football

Archie Manning visited Texas Stadium on a Monday night in 1973. The Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints have faced one another 24 times since 1967. The Cowboys won the first five games between 1967 and 1969, but most of those games were relatively close. In 1971, Dallas faced New Orleans in October at time when Tom Landry was still alternating between Roger Staubach and Craig Morton...
