Toward the latter part of last season, Tim Tebow helped Demaryius Thomas make a name for himself. Though Tebow is oft-criticized for his passing skills — or lackthereof — he’s able to uncork a pretty decent deep ball, and Thomas, a speedster, has an uncanny way of getting open downfield.

During their improbable playoff run, the two connected on several big plays, most notably this 80-yard touchdown reception to defeat the highly-favored Steelers in overtime.

Both had their moment in the sun together, but it’s just a memory now that Tebow is a Jet and some guy named Peyton Manning arrived in the Mile High City.

Thomas wishes Tebow wasn’t an unfortunate casualty of Manning Mania, though he knows working with the surefire Hall of Famer will be an experience in itself.

“Me and Tim, if you look at our stats, we had a great year together,” Thomas said on NFL Network’s Total Access, via USA Today. “And I wish he would have stayed around so maybe he could have learned some things from Peyton.

“But it’s over with now, and we’ve got Peyton on our side, so I’m just looking forward to the season.”

Of course, no Tebow-related interview would be complete without touching on his current battle in the Big Apple. Thomas, smartly, praised his former signal-caller, but did not take the bait.

“Tim’s a worker, he’s a great player,” said Thomas. “(But) I can’t say much about that because I really don’t know.”
