Dennis Allen has gone through a lot this season, on and off the field. He understands that there are things bigger than football, and that if you accept losing in life, your football team won’t be very good either. In Allen’s personal life, the passing of his father must have left a huge void, but he’s never missed a game and expects his player to be as mentally tough. No matter the excuse, losing isn’t one of them. Allen spoke to The Drive on 95.7 The Game in San Francisco about not accepting a losing mentality on his team. “No disrespect to anybody, but to think that you would go out and try to lose games, that’s a loser’s mentality. You build a winner through winning football games and developing good habits of winning football games. That’s the only reason why we do what we do, is to win games. And so I don’t want our football team, or the Oakland Raiders organization, to ever accept losing as a good thing. It’s not good to lose and we need a win. Obviously the draft is important.
