Found December 18, 2012 on Checkdown Chatter:

Dennis Pitta is why you pay attention to fantasy defenses by position. The Broncos have been strong against the pass on the season but gave up the 2nd most fantasy points on the season to opposing Tight Ends coming in to this week’s contest. While many of Pitta’s yards came on a nifty play down the middle that probably shouldn't have gone for a score (missed tackles) it's still worth noting that Denver's struggles against TEs continued...

  • First of all not sure who the idiot is that wrote this but Pitta's long play was not in the middle of the field it was on the sidelines. Second why is it that you guys never give Pitta any credit, it's always the other team screwed up and that is the only reason Pitta was able to do what he did. The dude just keeps plugging along making catches and TD's but no credit or pub. The only reason he doesn't have more catches is because he is always the 3rd or 4th option, rarely is he ever the first option. But when they throw to him he catches it. By the way Pitta did make a catch down the middle of the field but it was a 31 yard rec that he jumped up and pulled down over two defenders and backed into the end zone. It was quite a catch but once again he only caught it because the defenders were horrible. Get a clue.

Denver Broncos, an emerging powerhouse

Yesterday, I watched in awe as the Denver Broncos dismantled the Baltimore Ravens 34-17 in Baltimore. And the game wasn’t as close as the score would indicate. With their ninth straight victory, this one against one of the best AFC teams, the Broncos are becoming an NFL powerhouse. The Broncos dominated the first half building a 10-0 lead. It was only because of the exceptional...

Miller to Make Final Push to Win DPOY Honors

When it comes to defensive awards, sacks don’t mean everything.  But they don’t hurt, either. Last season, Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller won Defensive Rookie of the Year honors despite recording fewer sacks (11.5) then San Francisco’s Aldon Smith (14).  This year, the scenario is different. Miller won as a rookie because Smith was—and in some circles, still is...

Manning: Voice of the Denver airport

For the holiday season, visitors to the Denver International Airport will be greeted over the PA system by the voice of Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.

BYU in NFL Report, Week 15: Pitta sets new career highs

The star of the week for former Brigham Young Cougars in the NFL was clearly Dennis Pitta. He had his best day, individually, as a pro. Bryan Kehl had his best game of the season, and Brady Poppinga continued his immediate impact in Dallas. On a down note, Vic So’oto is no longer on the Packers’ active roster.   Dennis Pitta, Baltimore Ravens, Tight EndPitta had career highs...

Is #Flaccoing About to Catch on Fire??

So Joe Flacco is basically a fluke at this point right?  Only hardcore delusional Ravens fans would tell you otherwise.   The real question here is, will this be bigger than Tebowing??  #Flaccoing is way easier to do and people love to give guys a hard time in the NFL when they are struggling.  It's as easy as taking a nap too, which is basically what this guy does during...

Flacco shoulders blame for Ravens' 3-game slide

Joe Flacco has lost three fumbles and thrown three interceptions in his last three games, each of which the Baltimore Ravens lost. Flacco understands that an NFL quarterback often receives an inordinate amount of criticism in defeat and perhaps too much credit for a victory. And he's OK with it. Asked how much blame he deserves for Baltimore's current skid, Flacco replies...

If the Season Ended Today: AFC’s Second Seed

As the chart from NFL.com shows, the Denver Broncos would be the No. 2 seed in the AFC Playoff race if the season ended today. “Right now, I know we can control our own destiny, but if we don’t play our best game against Cleveland this week, that will be all for naught,” Coach John Fox said on Monday.  ”So all our focus will be on the Cleveland Browns, a team that’s won...

Ravens Injury Report: Jameel McClain Out for Season

The Baltimore Ravens continue to take injury hit after injury hit to their defense, as starting linebacker Jameel McClain has been diagnosed with a spinal cord contusion. The team has said that the injury will sideline the linebacker for the remainder of the season, reports Ryan Mink of BaltimoreRavens.com. The Ravens’ linebacker corps is down another player, this time for...

Broncos sign practice squad player to replace Saulsberry

(Image courtesy of Scout.com) On Tuesday, PFT reported that Broncos rookie center Quentin Saulsberry was suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.  Saulsberry marks the fourth Bronco in the past year to have been suspended for PED abuse. On Wednesday, the Broncos announced that the team has signed rookie guard Lonnie Edwards to...

Decker a different receiver with Manning around

(Eds: APNewsNow. With AP Photos.) By ARNIE STAPLETON AP Pro Football Writer Eric Decker was the first of Peyton Manning's workout buddies, sneaking onto high school football fields in the spring to work on his rhythm and rapport with his new quarterback. The sessions helped Manning regain his arm strength and rediscover his old form after a series of neck operations that sidelined...

Beaten by their own offense, Ravens lose to Denver, 34-17...

On a day when a Baltimore defense inundated with injury was able to give Peyton Manning everything he could handle and more, the Ravens offense did not show up like the cavalry they were supposed to be. In fact, Flacco and company gave points away to Denver. It was a disgraceful performance. It wasn't all on Joe Flacco, although Joe admitted after the game the pick-6 he...
