Depth At Quarterback Still A Question Behind Vick
The Philadelphia Eagles have high hopes for the 2012 season but they were immediately just how quickly those aspirations can be dashed. In Thursday’s first preseason game, star quarterback Michael Vick injured his throwing hand on a helmet and was forced to leave with a thumb injury.
Although the X-rays came back negative and it’s clearly not a serious ailment, it reminded Eagles fans just how delicate the situation can be. Not only will the teams NFL odds change for a couple of weeks if Vick is in or out of the lineup, it will directly affect their Super Bowl hopes – especially in what’s expected to be one of the toughest divisions in football.
In the offseason, the Eagles decided to let Vince Young go and while nobody had a problem with that following Young’s 11 turnovers in just the six games he played last season, it did leave a lack of experience behind Vick.
