After his teammate Kevin Kolb was named the NFC offensive player of the week for putting up 300+ yards for the second consecutive game, DeSean Jackson received the nod today as the NFC special teams player of the month for September. With the two marquee offensive players being sidelined with injuries, the fine play of two youngsters like Kolb and Jackson has been a boon to the Eagles early in the 2009 season.
The question in most fans minds is now which game is a better representation of what this team is really like? Are the Saints really that good or are the Chiefs really that bad? Either way, 2-1 heading into the bye week with no new serious injuries is pretty acceptable to most Birds fans.

In other Eagles news, a fan at Sunday's game says she was forced to turn her anti-Vick shirt inside out at the Linc. Her story seems questionable if you ask me and she claims her "freedom of speech" was violated. When you're purchasing a ticket to enter someone else's venue it's not like you're standing on a street corner free to say whatever you damn please. [Inqy]
Vick has also been ordered to repay more than $400,000 he withdrew from a pension plan from a company he owned that did celebrity marketing work. [WSJ]
What's Vick doing this week in light of Andy Reid giving the team off? Today he was speaking to a Church in DC. He compared dog fighting to dealing drugs, "Anything can happen when you're fighting dogs at two or three in the morning. I'm blessed to be before you and still have my life. It's like standing on the corner and dealing drugs. It's a criminal life." [WaPo]
