Many assumed that Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart would be on the trading block after the team signed free agent bruiser Mike Tolbert to a four-year contract this offseason.
However, despite signing Tolbert and DeAngelo Williams (5-year $43 million) to long-term contracts, it appears that the Panthers aren't interested in dealing Stewart this season.

Sherrod Martin was a starter at safety for the Panthers last year, but he struggled so they added Haruki Nakamura to give him some competition. Martin is still starting at safety for the Panthers in OTAs, but according to the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers could have a platoon at safety with Martin playing on passing downs and Nakamura playing on running downs.
This makes sense...
The Panthers were given a scare last week when Jeff Otah injured his left knee in OTAs, the same left knee that caused him to miss 28 games over the past 2 seasons. However, the MRI today came back negative. Still, the Panthers could rest him for the rest of OTAs and even minicamp later this month as a precautionary measure, according to the Charlotte Observer. If they do that, it...
According to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer, Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera indicated that Jeff Otah’s left knee is OK.
Otah’s knee swelled up last week, which prompted the Panther have him undergo an MRI to check things out. I’m sure they’ll closely monitor him as the training camp approaches.

We discussed schemes and coaches; stadium surfaces and fan bases. That led me to my sleeper pick of the NFC; the Carolina Panthers, led by Cam Newton, Steve Smith, DeAngelo Williams. Will, being a Washington Redskins fan till the end, couldn'...
As much as his prodigious natural talent, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has also impressed with his attitude in his short time in charge.
That has carried its way through offseason workouts in his second full season, and evidenced by his unwillingness to get into a bi-coastal war of words. Newton has clearly emerged as the leader of a young team, but to this day defers to others.
Welcome to another NFC South nuggets, where we link to the happenings of the Panthers, Saints and Buccaneers in a way as biased as only a Falcon fan can do. Has Cam Newton received way too much praise in a slow offseason? Are we growing increasingly bored with Drew Brees and his contract situation? Are the Buccaneers already regretting one of their big free agency signings...
The Carolina Panthers selected linebacker Luke Kuechly in April's draft with hopes that he would become a staple in the team's defense for years to come.
However, the former Boston College standout must first go through an important rite of passage.
At OTAs, Kuechly has been carrying the helmets of his fellow linebackers – Jon Beason, Thomas Davis and James Anderson –...
