Found September 30, 2012 on The Majors Detroit:
Sitting here a month ago, it looked as though this game against the Minnesota Vikings would be an easy win and Detroit would be heading into the bye week on a positive note. However after falling to the winless Tennessee Titans last Sunday while Minnesota pulled the upset at home against the San Francisco 49ers, the perspective on this game has changed dramatically. Entering today’s matchup against the Vikings, the Lions already find themselves in a must-win game since another loss could be devastating for any playoff hopes they may have. However given the upsets and surprises around the NFL including within the NFC North a win for the Lions coupled with a Bears loss and all of a sudden Detroit will find themselves tied atop the division. Not to mention another loss to a team the Lions should beat will only fuel the fire of those constantly calling for the heads of Martin Mayhew, Jim Schwartz, Matthew Stafford and any high profile personnel member or player. Detroit Lions Player to ...

Matthew Stafford airbrushed t-shirt available at Ford Field

The t-shirt that Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was so proud of in the ESPN commercial for Monday Night Football is now on sale at Ford Field.  If you remember the commercial, you remember the shirt.  Stafford had a t-shirt made with an airbrushed image of himself on it.  Immediately following, he was eating lobster for dinner and asked the server for a bib to protect said...

Mike Leshoure Contained by Vikings

Detroit running back Mikel Leshoure handled 17 touches Sunday but he only produced 63 total yards.Fantasy Spin:Leshoure wasn't bothered by his groin injury as much as he was Minnesota's overpowering defensive front. The back's day was made worse when he lost a fumble on his longest run of the day. It won't get much easier after the Lions' Week 5 bye with Philadelphia...

Matthew Stafford Fails To Impress vs. Vikings

Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford went 30-of-51 for 319 yards but he was sacked five times and failed to throw a touchdown pass. He did rush for a touchdown but he only has four total scores in four games after producing 41 in 16 games last season.Fantasy Spin:The good news is that Stafford wasn't limited by his leg injury that knocked him out last week. The bad news is that...

Mikel Leshoure Will Start For Lions

Detroit running back Mikel Leshoure (groin) will start Sunday against Minnesota, according to Jason La Canfora.Fantasy Spin:Leshoure has been limited in practice all week but there was never a realistic chance that he wouldn't play Sunday. He touched the ball 30 times in his NFL debut last week, and even if his workload decreases the running back still figures to be heavily favored...

Lost swagger: Lions just don’t have it

Last year Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson and Ndamukong Suh had a certain swagger as they ending a playoff drought and sent a message to the NFC North. Fast forward to 2012 and the Detroit Lions are nowhere near getting into the playoffs. Matthew Stafford has been anything but stable. Not just game to game but from quarter to quarter. It seems his mechanics have even changed as...

Matthew Stafford On Track For Week 4

Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford practiced again on Friday and it looks like he's going to play Sunday against Minnesota. Stafford left last Sunday's game against Tennessee with an injured hip.Fantasy Spin:The Lions will need a win this week to avoid dropping to 1-3 for the year so expect Stafford to play this weekend and as always, throw often.

Lions QB Stafford practices again

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford practiced for the second straight day Friday and is expected to start against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Stafford left last week's loss against the Tennessee Titans with a leg injury and did not practice Wednesday. Tight end Tony Scheffler (calf) practiced Friday and is expected to play Sunday. Safety Louis Delmas remains...

The Detroit Lions are back

A season ago, the Detroit Lions made good on promises of a turnaround by making the playoffs with a 10-6 record. Despite losing in the opening round, they set the bar for 2012 higher than any point in recent history. Unfortunately, they haven't followed through. The Lions are off to a stunning 1-3 start, with their lone win coming against the St. Louis Rams. In their...

Week 4 fantasy advice: Ryan Mathews set to bounce back and quiet his GM against division rivals in Kansas City

Week 4 is interesting, as it is really the first week where we can start to assume that some of the things we are seeing from fantasy defenses are an indicator of the team’s relative strength on each side of the ball, as opposed to just 1 week blips. With that in mind, I’m answering [...]

Simpson, Stafford active for Vikings-Lions

Minnesota wide receiver Jerome Simpson is active for Sunday's game at Detroit after serving a three-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The suspension stemmed from an offseason felony drug conviction. Quarterback Matthew Stafford is active for the Lions. He left last weekend's loss to Tennessee with an injured right hip. Detroit safety...

Same issues plague the Lions

Ford Field turned into a house of horrors for the Lions on Sunday as they lost their third straight game 20-13 against the Vikings to fall to 1-3 heading into the bye week. It seems like the same problems are facing the Lions in all of the losses, lack of consistent running game, big plays and special teams issues.  Always good to see that a team is struggling in all three parts...
