Fans of the Detroit Lions will have to wait just a few more games until Mikel Leshoure reaches the football field. After missing all of his rookie season due to injury, Leshoure has received a two-game suspension from the NFL after violating the league’s substance abuse policy earlier this year. Last month, Leshoure pleaded guilty to marijuana possession charges stemming from his arrest on March 12, the first of two arrests on similar charges this offseason. The suspension is likely the first of several the NFL league office will hand down to the Detroit Lions prior to the start of the 2012 regular season. DT Nick Fairley can likely expect to receive a suspension as a result of his arrest filled offseason. Fairley has also arrested twice in recent months, once for marijuana possession and a second time for DUI and attempting elude law enforcement officials.
