Quarterback: Matthew Stafford: The 2011 season was a tremendous and breakthrough season for Stafford. After starting only 13 games in his first two seasons, Stafford started in every game in 2011, and was one of the top passers with 5,038 yards for 41 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Look for Stafford to have another great year spreading the ball to his numerous targets
Running Back: Mikel Leshoure: Detroit has never had a great running back ever since Barry Sanders left them. I think that Leshoure is going to be the choice for Detroit to start coming out of training camp, with the high chance of Jahvid Best getting another concussion, Leshoure has a chance to prove himself in training camp. He will have to prove himself too after being arrested on marijuana charges in the off-season.
Wide Receiver: Calvin Johnson: Calvin Johnson is no doubt the best receiver in the NFL right now. After having a stellar 2011 season in which he had 96 receptions for 1,68...

Nate Burleson says he didn't see what fellow Detroit Lions receiver Titus Young did to get himself dismissed from team workouts this week.
Burleson says he doesn't know if Young punched, pushed or shoved safety Louis Delmas. But he says the Lions are a tough team that needs to learn how to dial down emotions at times.
Burleson says it will be business as usual for Young...
Matthew Stafford had Jahvid Best in the backfield, tight ends Brandon Pettigrew and Tony Scheffler on the inside, and receiver Calvin Johnson on the outside.
Familiar faces and coaching continuity all helped the Detroit Lions hit the ground running in their first of 10 organized team workouts Monday.
''We all know what we're doing out there,'' Stafford said...
When Lions organized team activities began on Monday morning, receiver Titus Young was not in attendance. Unlike others who are nursing injuries or attending to personal matters, Young had a different reason for not taking part: He is not welcome at the team’s facilities. According to MLive.com, Young has been banned from Allen Park indefinitely after he reportedly punched safety...
The Lions have used picks in the first 2 rounds on running backs in their last two drafts prior to this year, as well as a 3rd round pick on a running back in 2008, yet they keep having to turn to the mediocre and aging Maurice Morris down the stretch to get significant carries for them. This is because Jahvid Best, a 1st rounder in 2010, Mikel Leshoure, a 2nd rounder in 2011, and...
Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young’s “suckerpunching” of teammate Louis Delmas is most definitely suspension-worthy. Young, entering his second season with the Lions, had a disagreement Monday during an optional team practice with Delmas, deciding to blindside him with a fist rather than settling the matter in more amicable, mature terms. Lions coach Jim Schwartz needs to [...]
Detroit wide receiver Titus Young was not at Detroit's OTAs Monday after the team decided he couldn't participate for fighting with teammate Louis Delmas.
Young, who was benched last year after punching a New Orleans player in their regular season matchup, apparently got into a confrontation with Delmas at the voluntary workouts last week, and then punched Delmas when...
It was reported Monday by The Detroit News that the former UGA quarterback and 2009 #1 overall NFL draft pick, Matthew Stafford, made an ultimate charitable donation to a sick girl and her family.
At a the Griese-Hutchinson-Woodson charity fundraiser gala benefiting the new children's hospital at the University of Michigan, Stafford bid $15,000 for, and won, a Monday Night...
Wide receiver Titus Young has been barred from OTAs with the Lions for fighting with teammate Louis Delmas last week, according to Anwar Richardson of Michigan Live.
It is uncertain when Young will be allowed to return to the team. So while Young will still get a fair shot to push Nate Burleson for the No. 2 role in the Lions aerial attack, this misstep will push him...
ALLEN PARK, Mich. It probably seemed a little strange when Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford started bidding on the Monday Night Football ticket package that he had donated himself to the University of Michigan Mott Childrens Hospital fund-raiser over the weekend.
Change of heart?
No, just a big heart.
Stafford bought his own ticket package for the Lions-Chicago Bears...
Lions rookie Ryan Broyles participated in Monday's OTA session. It's a good sign for a young player that could help the team immediately in 2012. Complete analysis of Broyles by Lions insider Mike Mady ...
Follow updates from Detroit Lions insider Mike Mady, who is covering the team from the Allen Park headquarters.
We scratched our heads a year ago when the Detroit Lions selected Titus Young out of Boise State in the 2nd round, but he did do pretty decent on a team as rookie #3 receiver. But then the Lions forced us to scratch our head again with the selection of Ryan Broyles in the 2nd [...]
Last year, it was Calvin Johnson. Early in 2012, Lions' QB Matthew Stafford -- even after gaudy statistics and a playoff berth -- is now being criticized with less-than-convincing evidence by at least one NFL analyst.
